Why don't you just play Shielding Plax so that you can get the creature and then keep it protected!

Goblin Bombardment and endless amounts of other red "tap to do something" and you can have all kinds of fun. Blightsteel Colossus? Why, thank you at a cost of a goblin.
In a 4-player EDH game, I stuck this on the Azusa sitting across from me. Everyone got to play extra lands. . . until the owner got ***ed at me passing around his general like a doxy and decided to hit me for 25 infect damage via Triumph of the Horde.

I misread this as a global effect, and I was awfully confused as to why this wasn't the most broken card ever printed.
