This card isn't bad, though only helpful in a few situations: i.e. if my opponent is attacking with a few huge creatures, I'd rather lose 1-4 life to be able to block and still have attackers. The other player would likely just sit there instead of attacking, so you would need evasion or burn spells to finish the game at that point.

Regeneration doesn't target the creature it's affecting, so Angelic Protector will have to sit this one out....
This doesn't work with Angelic Protector and Doran because the ability doesn't target; it simply says "enchanted creature."

Even if Regenerate did target the creature it was affecting, your idea would fail epically. Why? Because the creature becomes tapped when you Regenerate it.

Does no one remember the havoc this causes with Coalhauler Swine equipped with Pariah or its shield counterpart?

Shouldn't the blessing of leeches take away a poison counter every turn?

Regenerate does not TAP the creature. When you "regenerate" a creature they receive a regeneration shield. If the creature dies it taps and all damage is removed, otherwise the creature will not tap.

The effect of this card is not stellar, but the art...
...is just repugnant.

...I hope you are trolling, or joking. One of the two. If you are serious, please stop telling people how to play black. Or maybe just look up how sacrificing and regenerating works. I'll give you a clue: it doesn't.
As far as the card goes, I enjoy it. Free regeneration at the cost of 1 life per turn? And instant speed attachment? Yes please. Your board threat just got more annoying.

Leeches and Rebecca Guay: Two things I never thought I'd see together.

Free regenerate is worth 1 life per turn, but not necessarily the initial 3 mana investment. Still, this card is playable, especially in slower formats, like EDH.

Slap this on Death's shadow. looks like that life loss drawback just became an advantage. :)

Yes, I have learned my previous mistakes about sacrifice and regeneration effects. Since my last post, I have played more and learned a lot. I understand that the primary focus of this enchantment is to keep combo piece or win-con creatures alive, such as Blood Artist, deathbringer thoctar, or Lord of Lineage.
Anyway, let me make it up to everyone by providing better ideas for Blessing of Leeches.
High Priest of Penance = either unblockable 2 damage or one of the opponents permanents gets destroyed and you keep your creature =). Works well with Prey Upon
Saber Ants = lots of tokens on the field. Works best when you block with the ants, and then flash in Blessing of Leeches to preserve the ants while still getting your tokens =)
Spitemare / Boros Reckoner = damage reflection. The best part is that you can block whatever you want now that they can regenerate for free!
Nested Ghoul = more tokens on the field. The nested ghoul can keep taking punishment now that it has free regeneration, netting you a 2/2 zombie creature everytime!
Now when you consider that you can add in Fire Ants or arena to set off the damage trigger to these creatures whenever you want, things become more interesting. Even simpler methods can use whipflare or pyroclasm. Blessing of Leeches enables these cards to become even more powerful, because their default power/toughness was originally meant to limit what they could block and still stay on the field. Leeches eliminates that drawback in a very nice way.

Try it on Vebulid, instead.
