One of the best green creatures ever. I simply love this card and wouldn't mind seeing a reprint ;) (wink, wink @ wizards)

Being a creature is in many respects a pure upgrade from Regrowth. Blink it, bounce it, reanimate it - netting a card every time. Good thing it's green, and not in a good colour.

Well, it is quite a good card, and as said before, you can blink it, bounce it, reanimate it, clone it, copy it, shapeshift into it... There are tons of applications for this, and it would be great reprint.

Lets see here... I get a Regrowth (which was always overpowered) and for 1 green extra a 2/2 creature? Yes please!

A cip/etb Regrowth trigger on a 2/1 three-drop is definitely playable.
I like the fact most that Wizards did not just make her a 1/1 chump blocker for the increased cost of Green but even gave her 2 power to make her even more decent.
There are so many possibilities to make use of her triggered ability multiple times.

She also does a great job with Unearth once she's in your graveyard, which will provide you both with her 2/1 body and another card from your graveyard for just Black - even including Unearth itself!
This combo also has a good synergy with Intuition in case you want a particular card yet do not have three copies of it in your library: Pick the desired card, the Witness and Unearth. This way no matter which of these cards your opponent chooses, you'll ultimately be able to get the one you want, either directly or by putting the Witness into play for either Black or 1GreenGreen.

On top of that i'm also very content with the iconic art Terese Nielsen gave this card. You can immediately recognize the card once it hits the board - including the alternate art on the Friday Night Magic promo version.
When considering the fact that this could have pretty much appeared anytime, it surprises me that of all blocks Wizards decided to let us see this card getting printed in Mirrodin.
It's one of a very few cards from this artifact block that does not make me think of Ravager Affinity when i look at it.
Yet regarding flavor you can still recognize that she is located within the Tangle when taking a look at the background.

Green control makes me happy. Nature sometimes works slowly. Green decks should be able to as well.

Another one of those cards that they didn't play test enough, its actually ridiculously unfair with simple cards like crystal shard, venser, and etc. You find one card that locks out your opponent, then replay eternal witness repeatedly to use it, and that's game. The typical set up is venser/crystal shard, eternal witness, exhausation. You can also use oris samite guardian + eternal witness to bring back a second copy from the graveyard and discard it repeatedly for her grandeur affect making it so your opponent can no longer play spells the rest of the game.

Can tell that wotc makes a point not to print any more cards like this since we haven't seen anymore return any card affects except for naya charm, and thats on an instant that takes 3 different colored mana and so isn't quite as abusable. Oh and no they should never EVER reprint this card. Any card that locks out your opponent from doing anything as soon as you get two cards in play is over powered, and frankly takes all the enjoyment out of the game. At that point its who gets their uber combo first, and nothing about actually playing the game.

It's not on the reserved list, so yes, it can be reprinted. I wouldn't mind.

Not his primary goal, but work also like demigod of revenge.

Block wih it, it dies. You play another, fetch the one in your grave. Eternal blocker until your combo set in place. Just absurd with time warp.

Also fit pretty well with Genesis.

I'm really surprise it's not restricted.

I have had so much fun with this card, especially in conjunction with Ghostway and Day of the Dragons; when Day of the Dragons gets destroyed, she comes back and returns the enchantment back to my hand.

Eternal Witness + Evacuation is also rough when playing against a green deck with no removal.

The number one card that I'd love a reprint. (Other top cards on my list include Enchantress's Presence, Sakura-Tribe Elder, and Fecundity. Yes)

Powerful on its own, and has a lot of combo potential. A bit too broken with repeatable bounce/flicker like Crystal Shard and Astral Slide, but aside from that it wasn't that bad: people used it to recurse Tooth and Nail, or to simply bring back Horobi and Kokusho.

Also, I'm a huge fan of green-aligned girls - so much cooler, more lively and magical than white-aligned ones.

Absolutely a powerful card, but not actually broken. I would like it to be reprinted: not so that it can get abused, but rather so that it is more available to casual green decks who could use a little help.

Green genuinely needs either recursion or card advantage. It has had it in different forms (flashback, a little bit of madness, greater good, etc.) and I'm glad its getting cards like these more often. Without it green just gasses way too quickly. There's really nothing wrong with giving green a card like this, especially at 2 green weight. Yes, a good multicolor deck will always have the two green necessary, but it takes preparation to do so consistently, especially if you plan on taxing your resources by bouncing the witness and/or playing the returned spell in the same turn.

Really, an 8 mana lock that requires you to cast multiple spells every round is not actually that powerful. I'd sooner play a turn two exhume on Iona, Shield of Emeria than try to gather a clunky combo focused on this card. There are just too many ways to disrupt such combos.

This should have never been allowed out of playtesting. I cant deny that i wont miss it when it rotates out of extended, i just wish it woulda got the ban it deserved a long time ago. Easily abused regrowth needs to never be made again.

Edit: I gave in to the Witness's sheer power, and have played her in most of my 5cc decks, and i can say with certainty that she is a contender for the top 3 drop of all time. With Jace TMS/Cryptic Command or numerous other cards she can easily lock the opponent out, and she makes cards like Fact or Fiction even more broken. 5/5 No doubt, but still overpowered.

Yep, it make perfect sense that Regrowth is restricted in Vintage but you can run 4 of these.

If I get Eternal Witness/Time Warp-locked out of one more Commander game I'm going to have to kill something.

Also, awesome card, staple, amazing, etc., etc.

If this is reprinted, Terese Nielsen simply has to do the art. And not just because she's my favorite Magic artist.

What a classic.

IF you put her in a Mimic vat, she suddenly becomes uber powerful.

Soul's Might every turn? Go ahead.

Main creature got taken down? No worries, bring it back with her next turn.

Time Warp? complete lockdown. O_o;

Without combos, it's great just to get that kill card/counterspell back in a B/G, U/G, or R/G. Great for grabbing another card advantage card; super abusable with flicker effects. If you use Charms, Acidic Slime, or similar, she can also grab basically any kind of hate from your grave after you've used it, amazing versatility comes from this ability :D

Great card, great art. A MTG homerun. Hit the random card button on a whim, the results aren't normally this good.
