One of my favorite artifacts, even if it is a bit expensive. Get 4 of them out at once and negate the attack potential of every creature with power less than 5, not to mention the effect it has on damaging spells or abilities.

benevolent unicorn is better...not by much, but... yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

for six mana.... why?!

even if it were annoying, this card has splinter me written all over it

I like Thunderstaff better for this effect.

Thunderstaff, unicorn, et al don't work if you're combining this with Pestilence

This would stop an Empty the Warrens storm deck in its tracks.

Combo with Forcefield to nullify creature damage for 1 per creature. Obvious combo with Pestilence and similar effects as well.

6 mana is a lot to pay for what this card does. But at least you don't need to pour mana into it to maintain it. I suppouse it could have its uses.

Comparable to Hedron-Field Purists and the like. Personally, I like the purists better; it works on creatures and can be twice as effective. Also, leveling is now easier than ever with proloferate.

The effect is not bad, but the card's cost is too high.

This is an interesting concept, but the cost makes this nearly useless. Would be fun to see it reprinted as a 0/1 or 1/2 creature that gives you the same ability, for 2 or 3 mana at most. Then you might see some clever decks built around getting multiples out at once.

Yeah, if they stormed out on turn 5-6, this card would friggin own it.

It's a great effect, one of my first decks was this and pestilence. But it could use an update for nowadays, something like 4-mana at most. Agree with Wulfsten.. love it, but just looking old

@ Draugnor: and all that for a bargain of 24cmc...

The "high" cost of this is so very necessary.
It is deceptively strong, and falls into the unfun category of cards for your opponent. The fact that they have to find 6 mana to pull it off is what keeps this fair. To all of you who have faced down 2 or more of these simultaneously, you have my sympathy.

Playing this turn three terrifies white weenie decks. Playing another turn four makes them weep. (dropped three urza lands first three turns.)

As costly as his armor was, no wonder it didn't work too well for Urza.

Not all THAT well, apparently.

There are many ways to cheat this out early. Tinker is one of them, Shape Anew/Ponder combo is another. I didn't even try to think about those, so imagine what people can come up with if they put their minds to it.

Stupid combo time!
With Urza's Armor, set up the following:
Stuffy Doll, targeting yourself.
Outrider en-Kor, with Pariah attached.

All damage dealt to you is dealt to the Outrider, which sends the damage, one point at a time to the doll, which sends the damage, one point at a time, to you, preventing all of it.
Of course, you could just Pariah the Stuffy Doll and target your opponent, but where's the fun in that?

This card costs too much. And it's not that great. It does it's most vs swarmy decks, and swarmy decks will almost always have something to increase the swarm's attack. And it won't be a surprise, since it's an artifact.

Unassuming, until you realize all your one power guys are useless, looks bad until played

@JARYISM
As, Kiseki said, it is really desceptively strong how much preventing one damage from EVERY source can be, they did remake it at 4 cmc as a creature, Guardian Seraph (andHedron-Field Purists), and I think that is as low as it can go, if it was an artifact/enchantment I feel that it would be too strong because there is not a huge amount of removal against those run in many formats compared to creatures. Not only does it stop empty the warrens it stops grapeshot as well, not a bad card to ramp into.

A card that has some nasty lockdown combos with other cards.

Maybe this is the dumbest question never asked, but do multiple copies stack?
