possibly inspired by Weakstone, isn't it?

I adore this card. Meishin, the Mind Cage has never looked so bad. Some day, I'd like to see it in pure enchantment form.

simple but effective. cutting down on pretty much any threat an opponent can throw at you... turning a 4/4 into a 3/4 or a 1/1 into a 0/1. i like how the effect simply is, it doesn't require you to do anything extra

This card grabs token swarm decks and beats them into submission. its slightly pricey, but a great card nonetheless.

the thing about this card is that it is good, but a bit too costly for my taste.

I bet this would devastate another player early on in the game.. that, or the aforementioned token creature user.

Wonderful card, if indeed a bit expensive. Watch out using it in multiplayer, as everyone will hate you. But there's nothing like the look of pure frustration on my roommate's face when I put this one down.

1 or 2 etherium sculptors will cut this cost drasticly, 1 and this turn 3, 2 and this turn 3 with an open mana, and besides, what kinda artifact deck running this wouldnt use the sculptor, for that matter, what kinda artifact deck wouldnt use the sculptor period

By itself the card is rather bad...
Still, I have a deck around the cumber stone. It uses 4 cumber stones and 4 sculpting steel which can copy the stones, so practically 8 cumber stones all in all. When enough of them are in play, I use lots of creatures and spells which flip the power and toughness of other creatures. Since, with up to 8 cumber stones in play, the opponents creatures often have a power of 0, that means they will then die to very cheap and effective spells (no matter if they got regeneration, are indestructible or whatever).

The deck ain't powerful or something, but it works every now and then and is quite some fun to play.

Having to play against Cumber Stone plus Godhead of Awe is just not fun, especially if your opponent is running heavy counters as well.

This card does absolutely horrible things to so many decks.
I really thing there's a place for this somewhere.

Can someone please check Majinara's deck works (the P/T switching with this out) because I forgot the layers.

Things that modify Power/Toughness (But don't set it to a specific value) are applied in layer 7c. Something that switches the Power and Toughness is applied in layer 7e (Layer 7d is adding or subtracting from counters).

If there were some way to get 3 or 4 out early, the effect would be rather devastating...
Not bad by itself, especially in an artifact deck where it could be dropped earlier.
Though I don't see why it couldn't give them -2 instead...

This should have been 2U for it's effect. It is simply not powerful enough at 4 mana. I guess it being an artifact can somewhat be seen as a bonus. I give it 3/5 stars.

It helps your creatures in combat, but if you want to protect yourself use Thunderstaff.

This reminds me of Briar Patch, but easier to remove and more expensive. The difference is that green is better off pumping thier own creatures instead of weakening others, while blue doesn't have that choice. For that reason, this card gets a use and a 3.5/5

Totally agree with dberry02: it should cost {2}{U}... I
I would like this effect in a Leyline form! It should be very good against aggro, when this effect is needed most...

It might still have its uses, but its kind of outclassed by new jace.
Though I guess jace does not add to your artifact count, and this does not die to unblocked creatures, and this is also more splashable.

So Apples and Oranges, I guess. But new jace can get this effect while doing a ton more for you, if you have the cash to spare.

I just recently put 3 into my Mono-Blue Artifact/ Super Friends deck and they rule. They passively protect me and my Planeswalkers better than Jace, Architect of Thought does without even needing him in the deck. They count towards my Tolarian Academy and can but pulled out of my deck by Tezzeret the Seeker right away. And also mixed with awesomness like Vedalken Shackles and you're having a great time.

Multiple copies make them collectively better than Jace, Architect of Thought. Plus it's not just when they are attacking. Costing 4 if anything seems fair to me.
