I love Unicorns, and I love MTG. But I hate MTG Unicorns. Is that weird?

This would not stop pestilence - pestilence is a permanent so long as it's on the battlefield which is when you can activate its ability.
If it had 1 more toughness, this would kill RDW. As it is, I guess it sucks up a lightning bolt at least.

One nice thing about this is that it doesn't prevent the damage, it actually makes a replacement effect. So it could get around things like Everlasting torment and the like. Still a pretty narrow use, but I like it.
