Don't be fooled by his color, I'm pretty sure Purphoros favors him more than Heliod does.

Would be great, but there's a very slim chance he'll live past two combats.

Slap on an Ethereal Armor, and add some populate shenanigans.
Then watch the superhappyfuntimes happen.

That flavor text is a little too on the nose for my taste. "Someone had to be the first to attack"? Come on, man.

Makes more tokens then Precinct Captain, but requires the investment.

I would've rather seen him as a rare that creates first strikers, but I guess white weenie is already getting some good tech this block.

So many different soldier tokens! Theros had white and red soldiers, now we have enchantment and vigilant cat soldiers, not to mention the red-and-white hasty Boros soldiers from Ravnica.

I wonder if a soldier deck with Door of Destinies will be practical? Most of the soldier token producers are soldiers themselves.

With Harvestguard Alseids on the battlefield, this can safely create tokens each turn. Play the Harvestguard on turn 3 after you play this. Prevent damage to your General and swing. When you untap, pay 3 mana and get the enchatment tokens and target your General. Rinse and repeat. At prerelease, I was able to get two creatures a turn. Play a Eidolon of Countless Battles and watch it get +2/+2 each turn, and since you are getting two enchantment creatures, you can protect the Eidolon and the General.
