Rather poor card. 2/1s are fine, but there are many, many better 2/2s for 2, making Alpha Myr more or less useless. Nice art, though.

it being 2 colorless for 2/1 instead of 2 with a color for 2/2 isnt making the card any better... love the myr tho

Ok-- "FIRST to charge, FIRST to fight." Wouldn't that be more lent to first strike or haste? I'm confused :S

Love the concept but couldn't they have made him a 3/1 for 2 or something? =(

Related to the flavor text: I agree with previous comment! GIVE the thing HASTE!

... Because only the flavour text, the surrounding white area seems empty, like missing something...

Alpha and Omega Myr are a reference to the greek alphabet, Alpha is the first letter and Omega is the last. Alpha and Omega are always considered to be opposites in any contexts, for example if a TV show's villain was named Omega, it's hero would likely be Alpha. This is reflected in the fact that Omega Myr is an inside-out Alpha Myr, Alpha Myr being a 2/1 while Omega Myr is a 1/2.
EDIT: Also, hypothetically, this card is completely 100% balanced. Assuming that 2 colorless mana is equivalent in value to one colored mana, a fact that is supported by Arcbound Hybrid(on comparison to Goblin Chariot) and Copper Myr(in comparison to Llanowar Elves), this is basically just an artifact version of Savannah Lions.

2 colorless is not equal to 1 color, it's worth more, but not as much as two colored, and not nearly as much as 2 different colors.
Thanks for that rather obvious elucidation. Keep in mind savannah lions itself pales to the strictly better elite vanguard and dryad militant (the latter a situationally better card in the vast majority of cases).
As for alpha myr, keep moving. Youve already wasted enough time on this page.

I loved these guys to death and wanted desperately to make a deck with x4 of these and x4 omega myr. Alas I could not. And I hated WotC for making a crappy limited filler in my booster packs. I do not like limited, never have.

@ atemu1234: I'd rather it be a 2/1 for 3 with first strike.

This is what 2 gets you for a creature. Peruse at your leisure.
