This + Vitu-Ghazi, the city-tree = ghaziglare

There are probably much more efficient ways to get a creature token into play nowadays though

This is a powerful control card. Green isn't known for control, but Glare of Subdual simply says green has much potential for it.

This compared to Opposition kind of shows that blue is still superior in control than white and green combined.
On the other hand, these colors are better in creating creature tokens (even white with Martial Coup or Conqueror's Pledge), and on top of that Ravnica's Selesnia guild is focused on that, making it more useful in block-constructed.

@Donovan: What exactly would you do with all these counters? One of few things I could think of was putting them on your Mycoloth or some thallid to get more saprolings into play.

Gilder bairn with this card would be instant tap down of your opponents field for some 3 mana per untap of gilder bairn, as you get lots of counters. Maybe not the most convenient way to use control method on your opponent with the variety of other options available in the newest sets, but it doesn't hurt. Could also use with tokens, tap all their creatures for tapping a bunch of your 1/1's. Can also see combo potential here with stoic angel.

Merfolk also a definite probability, they have selkies, that already blue/green, and splash white. Combine with stonybrook schoolmaster or summon the school for infinite tap downs along with merrow commerce.

@exterion, I double the counters on planeswalkers, like garruk, or ajani vengeant.

Exalted creatures and Naya Gargantuans work well with this spell, as does Seedborn Muse.

Can you use Glare of Subdual on your opponent's turn after it is on the battlefield?

Guest: You can use Glare of Subdual whenever you want, as long as you have untapped creatures for it.

Opposition has greater power.

HOWEVER

Glare is Green and White, which are the two colors famous for tokens. i.e., even though Opposition ranks higher in ability, Glare of Subdual in fact has better color orientation to make it work. Opposition decks usually adds Green for tokens while Green/White in itself has the leisure.

If someone uses Glare of Subdual to tap a creature and in response the player uses that creature's tap ability to bounce Glare of Subdual, doesn't that mean that whatever other targets Glare of Subdual had don't tap because Glare is removed from the stack?

@keino
What are you talking about? The ability activates 1 at a time. If you tap 12 creatures for it's ability it puts 12 separate activated abilities onto the stack. If someone removes Glare of Subdual from play it doesn't matter. The abilities on the stack aren't dependent on their source remaining in play. Otherwise things like Mogg Fanatic wouldn't work at all.

@bankotsu92 Your question is a tad confusing, but I'll give it a shot

You have Glare of Subdual and 2 1/1 tokens in play. You want to tap 2 of your opponents creatures. You tap Token A and target Creature 1. Then you activate the ability again tapping Token B and target Creature 2. Your opponent then activates an ability on creature 2. They tap it to return Glare of Subdual to your hand. The ability targeting Creature 2 tries to resolve but doesn't have a valid target. The ability targeting Creature 1 resolves tapping Creature 1.

@Donovan_Fabian: At three mana a pop, that is not so great a combo. This is meant for tokens. Otherwise, an odd combination would be with some of the Merfolk untappers as their abilities cost less.

Not the best, but if you have a mycoloth and utopia mycon on the field, could still result in a huge payoff.

By the time you get all that out, it's probably a win more situation, but would still be fun to see.

(To make it even better, throw in a heart stone, tap & sac a sap, double the number you get next turn)

Use it to tap itself.

Fantastic card for an aggro-heavy meta and still a great draw against decks with only a few creatures as their win conditions. Power it out early with a few mana dorks, and then use those same weenies to ensure your fatties get through. Use creatures like Squadron Hawk and Jade Mage to keep your creature count high and give you and endless supply of tappers.

My opponent literally groaned when I Riftsweepered two of his Lotus Blooms, Acid-Mossed his storage land, and finally tapped down his Bogarden Hellkite with Glare when he finally got to eight mana. I'm such a jerk.

I random-carded this card twice today.
There are 11-12000 cards in Magic.
And each printing is possible to random card.
And I clicked random card about 20 or 30 times today.
I wish I had this kinda luck when I played the lottery.

This card is amazing in any Selesnya token deck. You will almost always have more creatures than your opponent. This can be used on the offense to get creatures through, or on defense to prevent ALL the attacks!

Usefull stuff:

- vigilance
- intruder alarm (then again you could just play opposition)
- seedborn muse
- fungus tribe
- mycosinth lattice (tap any permanent)

I will come back and write more :)
