In many ways, how Batman deal with villains. Dark Knight, utilizing fear and shadow, and not bound by laws, and only in the rarest moment, takes a villain's life. (Like how rare a black spell specifically targets a black creature)

Now my black deck finally has a instant kill option for those pesky Phyrexian Obliterator!
The flavour text begs the question: Just why don't we see more black on black action? After all, selfish and ambitious individuals usually view each other as threats, not companions.
Also, the fact that Black is apparently the most individualistic colour makes Black societies that value subordinance, such as the Old Phyrexians, seem very weird, and quite impossible, to me. Also, if we were to take that view of Black, Black should actually be the colour with the most Heroic, and White the least, but this is not the case.
My conclusion: Wizard's talk of Black not being the "evil" colour is pure bullcrap, as that is clearly the impression you get, no matter how much you know about the lore, from the game.

Very, very powerful sideboard card against Black decks (especially if mono-black becomes a thing like some are saying it might). It's essentially an anti-Doom Blade.

finally, a partner for Nightcreep. Maybe both of them on an Isochron Scepter, or perhaps just Nightcreep on a Panoptic Mirror and this on the scepter would be a fun deck. Or maybe combine them with Karma effects

This cycle is awesome for one reason - it helps diversify the Standard metagame. Suppose that mono-black somehow dominates and makes up for 70% of the metagame. Then every black deck would run four of these in sideboard, maybe even main deck, which in turn gives the deck less tool to deal with everyone else. Another deck, say RDW, or Selesnya, or Esper control now has a much better chance competing.
Firedrinker Satyr, on the other hand, does the exact opposite. Suppose that RDW somehow totally dominates - since Firedrinker Satyr is pretty much only weak to RDW itself, it would further cement the deck's reign. For this, I'm glad that RDW is not way too strong against the other strategies in Standard.
