The card could use some work.

But that flavor text is perfect.

I actually really like sorceries in red because they tend to give more bang for their buck than instants but this.. this is uncalled for.

It took this long for us to be able to mug someone in a game of Magic. I'm shocked.

But we are not stealing anything nor studying intensively!

Shock and Pillar of Flame say "Hi".

Gatecrash: Because we know you wanted strictly worse versions of many existing cards, riddled with narrow restrictions but with awesome flavor!

The two abilities this has don't work together, but if you think of this as two different cards you can see some nice value in it. 3.277/5.

Flavor text fix:
"Scream: muffled. Pockets: emptied.
Neck function: never the same until end of turn."

(Since this ain't Puncture Blast.)

I read that flavor text using the voice of Sherlock Holmes...like in that scene where he is in underground fighting? Now you will too..

"Choose one: Destroy target creature with toughness 2 or less; or target creature can't block this turn."
Except it's even better, because it compounds with other sources of damage to kill bigger creatures.

I had to reread the card to realize you couldn't target players. If you could, this might actually be constructed playable once Pillar of Flame rotates. Shucks.

It's not amazing. But it's a nice way to clear the way to clear the way

This is awesome limited removal. Kills a small creature, but is still useful against big creatures late game. I love it.

Of course it's no good outside of limited, but hey it does it's job very well.

Somone likes Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes :)

I giggle at the thought of Grizzly Bears being mugged to death.

If you get this in limited, use it. The number of creatures who come into play at 1-2 toughness is staggering.

Two useful effects that don't work well in tangent. Think of it as an ironic charm.

Given how little removal is available in Gatecrash this is a good pick in draft.

I don't know what people have against this card. Sure, it's a slow Shock with a second effect that doesn't synergize with the first, but as people have been pointing out, it's an excellent pseudo-modal spell. In the early game, you can burn weenies or glass cannons and clear the way for your own attackers. In the late game, it still keeps this utility, since it stops their best blocker for a turn. You'd find a use for it virtually any time you draw it.

a friend of mine said that this would be a good replacement for pillar of flame once it rotates out... bless his heart

Okay, now wait one second - why is a minotaur, typically of the Boros Legion, participating in a mugging? Somebody needs to arrest this guy.

Great side board card for gruul. Either clear the way early game. Or clear the way mid to late game. I see two uses in one card for 1 mana.
