Goes well with Dead Weight, Riot Spikes, and similar. Also the entire "when it hits the graveyard return it" cycle since you can just dump them on the soon to be deceased creature...

kinda odd how the magic sigils look like a sniper rifle sighting....a bit more technical than mystical. but the phrase 'magic formula' is one I've come across numerous times, so this is valid and acceptable :) I'm not sure if I like this or not. I will wait to see more of this type of Magic Energy illustration before passing full judgment. :)
If they STOP doing the mystical kind, I will hate it. :P But they probably won't ^_^
@SyntheticDreamer Better yet, put rancor on the creatures you are going to kill with this guy. Essentially turns into G: target creature gets -2/-2. If it dies, return it to your hand.

Unfortunately, he won't interact that well with Rancor on enemy creatures. Since his ability triggers on cast, it will go on the stack before the enchantment ETB. If the targeted creature then dies from the -2/-2 the enchantment will then be countered for not having a valid target. Rancor won't return to your hand in that situation.
That said, I'm still playing around with this guy. He has a decent body and the ability seems like it should useful with the right build. Though, depending what you're playing against, turn 5 is often a bit too late for -2/-2 to be a significant source of relevant removal.
Oh my god, they were preparing for Theros. That makes SO MUCH SENSE.

@MechaKraken: Blowfly Infestation only works with this card because the Infestation is an enchantment. This card does not put two -1/-1 counters on something, it gives the creature -2/-2. Similar, but actually different, things.
I like this card. I would like to see more black enchantment love to encourage more Ramses Overdark decks : )
