A Black Spectral Rider. Yet just slightly worse. Limited fodder, and most likely will never be anything more.

Compared to Severed Legion, this is ridiculous. Powerful in casual mono-black zombie builds.

Probably the most aggressive two-drop Zombies have in Standard. That isn't saying much.

With all the Zombie Lords in Innistrad right now he's not that bad. He can easily become 3/2 or 4/3 unblockable quick.

As was mentioned, this is very much a black Spectral Rider; however, the difference is that, at least in the current meta, I think black will be seeing a lot more play than white. If that is the case--which I think is why many people aren't too excited for this card--Highborn Ghoul's situational unblockability may be less relevant than ever.

Disparage it all you want, but I see this thing winning me games.
The ghoul looks like it's choking the stone angel. DAT FLAVOR.

Probably the most aggressive two-drop Zombies have IN GENERAL.
Seriously, if you look at all the two-drop zombies in the game, almost ALL of them are terrible.

Finally a decent two drop zombie in standard! I'm sick of playing a removal or discard on turn two

In modern. I would play this over Severed Legion. Sure the legion has fear and has an extra point of toughness. But this comes down a turn sooner and if they waste a burn on it that's even better.

3.5/5. Why is Spectral Rider so premium and he isn't? The toughness doesn't really matter when it comes to creatures with Evasion. Gut Shot? o_O

In the last Multiplayer Free-for-all game my brother attached 2 Lashwrithe (with 9 Sampes) turning this into a 18/17 Zombie with Intimidate making both my Green 5/5 creatures & both Blue-Green Flying creatures with Deathtouch useless (unable to block it). My brother then commence to kill the last player with another Swamp down raising it's power to 20/19. As long as your opponent doesn't have any Black or Artifact creatures this one should be able to get a few damage through without any problems ^^y

2 power evasion for 2, in a relevant tribe. 4 star rating.
Not bad, but I'd normally just run Blood Scrivener for the potential card advantage. Zombies aren't typically the fastest decks, they're the more resilient deck of the aggro branch. They can T4 if they're lucky (undead warchief will get you there) but they're probably just going to trade favorably and recur, or amass tokens.
This guy is decent, but why tempt fate against card advantage? That's my take anyway, especially since scrivener is so affordable now.

4 star rating.
T2: This guy.
T3: Diregraf Captain, swing for 6. If they block, they lose a guy and take 1.
Amazing art, aggressively costed, evasion, tribal support.
Hooray for budget U/B zombies! XD
