Grizzly Bears with a great activated ability. It seemed out of place in Commander, but absolutely perfect in constructed.

Excellent little creature. Destroys some decks completely, and works well enough against others. 4,5/5.

I see what they're doing. Remember all those sets after Innistrad that tried to make Snapcaster Mage "bad"? It's like that, but with Reanimator.

Such a shame Ulvenwald Tracker and Predator Ooze are going to rotate soon, Fight Club is one of my favorite decks ever.

So, in case it wasn't already clear, this should completely alter the way Modern is played. It's also playable in Standard, excellent in Commander, and viable in Legacy. It's easily the most important card in the set.

As far as I can tell, this is the ONLY card in the set?

Eats Goyfs
Eats Flashback/Snapcaster
Eats Reanimator
Eats Ichorid/Dredge
Eats Self mill (Ruinator)
Eats undying/persist creatures
Eats Zombies (lord of the undead, cemetery reaper)
Eats Threshold
Grows to monstrous proportions in regular games (especially multiplayer.)
Does all of this at instant speed.

Is legal in every format but pauper.

Pick up your playsets before they get ridiculously expensive again... Modern just got overhauled by this little guy. It made big waves in Legacy, and it'll get stupid in Modern. Answers Goyf, reanimator, Gifts, EMRAKUL, Deathrite Shaman's ammo, and can get bigger than Goyf potentially. Good thing Spell Snare, Bolt, and Path can get it, or this would just be ridiculously overpowered in the format.

Has some nice synergy with Deadbridge Chant. Gives the ooze stuff to snack on, and lets you exile the stuff you don't want Deadbridge Chant to bring back.

Also, pulled this card and Jace, Memory Adept in the same sealed pull. Even if Jace was destroyed before milling them to death, ooze finished the job. Makes me want to create a BUG mill deck.

Hopefully this being reprinted in a core set will help bring the price down... last I checked it was still like 30 bucks

I feel that part of the reason this was reprinted into Modern was that so we wouldn't have to run Tarmogoyf in every deck with green in it.

Infinite lifegaining Slitherheads, wheeeeeeeee!

A good answer to graveyards and it can get quite big! Not sure how relevant the life gain is, but it BS angel and thragtusk had it.

Holy shit I finally got to play this thing. Basically, this is the best thing to have in green on turn 2, even if you're facing perfectly normal, not caring about the graveyard decks.

What's the previous title holder gonna do about it? List the number of card types that aren't in the graveyard?

I'm not pretty sure I'm fine with its powerlevel outside of Commander. I'm pretty sure I'm happy with one copy with altered art for free from DotP'14.

@rollinsclone: Unfortunately venders are jumping at a chance to rip people off on another {G} 2-drop. Maybe the price will drop if the decks already boarding Linvala or Damping Matrix beat decks with this card...

Not sure why Ooze can pseudo-Scavenge at Instant speed rather than Sorcery speed. It's a value/hate bear regardless.

At least it isn't Voice/Mythic I suppose.

This is the closest Magic has gotten to a perfect creature. It can go anywhere where you're able to easily splash in Green.

By itself, it's an efficiently-costed creature. 2/2 for 1Green is good, although basic. But then, it's got:
1. An activated ability that doesn't require it to tap (do-able as soon as it comes out).
2. An ability that works almost immediately (having cards in the grave isn't hard to do).
3. An ability that can be useful both early and late-game.
4. Two bonuses to the ability when it targets a very common card type (creatures).
5. Although insignificant, the card flavourfully works. It makes sense that an when an Ooze scours through a grave and eats whatever's in it, it becomes bigger when it munches on a creature.

This card shouldn't ever be banned since it's more a reactionary creature (it stops problems more than it causes problems). If you go onto the banned list for Modern, you'll see almost everything on it is on there because it was a massive problem starter, not a problem solver.
Except for Mental Misstep... but that doesn't count.

Battlefield Scrounger, eat your heart out.

I had complete board control with my Wonder and Brawn deck. This guy dropped, became a 6/6 and then proceeded to stomp my face. Utterly devastating against the right deck.

Shouldn't this card be in the Tarmogoyf price range with the logic of cheap and effecient beaters? Serious question. I'd much sooner build a Modern deck with a playset of these over Tarmogoyf.
