lorendorky, how exactly is that a combo with Life from the Loam? sure, take out all your lands out from the graveyard then put a card that does damage equal to the lands in your graveyard... BUT there is a solution! use evolving wilds! instead of using life of the loam to take cards out of the graveyard, search your library, and have a constant lands in your graveyard from round 1.

Very nice design. Not efficient as stand alone removal, but this combos off its self and can be further assisted by Evolving Wilds and self-milling cards. Removal that fits perfectly into a scavenge deck is always welcome.

15th pick in a draft, yet could be good in the reanimater deck. And i don't like reanimater decks. probably because these pro tourneys might have 32 people in it. with 28 decks the EXACT SAME , Yeah it's what works. but thats just not fun magic to me. give me draft/limited anyday. in such case this card will never leave your sideboard. 0.18 in limited / 3.85 in construct

If you use enough fetchlands, you can be sure this will be killing little creatures that ruin your day such as deathrite shaman, and maybe you'll also flip some bloodghasts!!

"Put the top four cards of your library into your graveyard. An opponent's creature may die, but meh, who cares about that? You have four more cards in your graveyard."

If you're running a Golgari deck, then you WANT those cards in your graveyard. Any counters on a target creature (even your own), is just a bi-product.
Use it to either dredge a creature into your hand, or scavenge to power-up a creature already on the field. It gets even more powerful when Varolz or Life from the loam is out.

DROWN IN FILTH, DEBT TO THE DEATHLESS. RAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH
There is no practical way to quickly get lands into your graveyard, except as a side effect of self-milling. Poor little Drown in Filth is still useless. Even the "dredge" decks that use Commune with the Gods, Satyr Wayfinder, and Grisly Salvage ignore DiF. That makes me sad, because I wanted to play with it.

Target creature gets -x/-x where X is the number of cards in your graveyard
THAT would be nigh-unconditional removal and about the best thing ever. This is still quite good however, as was ghastly demise.
Isn't that kinda him in the picture?
