It's mighty bad, but making a token with ld is a cool thought.

And WOTC said: "you shall not build ld anymore!".

Ha! I know it's a bad card, but it's just...so hilarious. I'm lovin' it.

How did that little guy destroy a whole land?

At 5 mana, does destroying a land even matter at that point? Id rather have 3 more goblins.

@majinara: To be fair, dedicated land destruction was just depressing for everyone involved. Expensive ld effects let players take down specific problem lands but don't let them take down everything. (Although this pales in comparison to Acidic Slime...)

Pros like me realize that this is the perfect land destruction card that our goblin decks needed.

Have fun thinking about how much this awful card cost you when you crack open numerous copies of it in your four-dollar booster packs.

That's a random effect to pair with the LD...but yeah, this is rather inefficient given that Goblin Rally exists.

I mean, if you compare it to Craterize, it's not bad...
But we all weren't born yesterday: Stone Rain's been around since the beginning of Magic.
Since Zendikar, LD has been going down the drain. This might be one of the final nails in that coffin.

Lame... Okay, we get it. Land destruction is not allowed. That idiotic card in Innistrad (Scorch the Fields) was bad enough - because fire only damage humans, apparently.
Then, we moved on to Craterize, which was Stone Rain +1 mana for no reason at all... as if Stone Rain was tearing up Standard, or as if anyone has played a targeted land destruction deck in Standard in the past 10+ years.
So, now we get this, because adding a worthless Goblin means the land should coast 5 to destroy?! Ugh... just stop! Either stop printing drek land destruction or at least make the cards playable in Limited!

Goblin Settler is pretty much the same thing, except it costs . Not counting stuff that interacts with tokens, creature cards, and stuff.

They should just reprint Stone Rain... With one disclaimer. "Destroy target non-basic land."

I ended up with 2 of these in a RtR draft and decided to run with them. both of the times that i drew the card i was able to mess with my opponents mana fixing just enough to make the chump blocking token worth it. Awful in constructed, obviously, but in limited formats maybe only slighty sub-par.

I think that this is an interesting take on LD.
I like the rules text, I just think it would read nicer as a 2RR card.

It's funny to see people complaining about LD. LD being strong SUCKS in small formats like standard and block. It's not fun to play with or against because of how non-interactive it is.
In draft, this card isn't the worst, although Destroy the Evidence is definitely stronger suited than this card for the job. Popping a land can keep your opponent off of a shaky manabase or take away their splash color. Getting a 1/1 dude isn't the worst either, there's a decent amount of pump in the format, Chorus of Might is a thing and so is Collective Blessing. There's definitely going to be a deck where this is a reasonable 23rd card once Gatecrash and "sinker" are released and we're looking at drafting 4 and 5 color decks.

If they lowered this to 1RR and had the Goblin token enter the opponent's side of the field....... now that would be cool!

Because sending a goblin to an already totaled building that's pretty much on the brink of another collapse is a GREAT idea.

1/5. Land destruction and a 1/1 dude for 5? Overcosted.

Alright, everybody is forgetting that this was printed in the same set as Goblin Electromancer, and that if you land one of those turn two it curves quite nicely into Guttersnipe and then this. I know that there are better 5 cost cards in the set, even for goblin tribal a la Goblin Rally, but I find that this card provides decent tempo for building a goblin army while the opponent is a turn behind on their resources.
