Least expensive Tim in the game. A great card only trumped by Vulshok Sorcerer the red haste Tim.

"Tim" is the outdated word from when tap to do damage was blue. Now that it's red, they're called "pingers". "Lasers" doesn't mean anything as far as I've ever heard.

They called them "Tim" because of Monty Python and the Holy Grails Tim the Enchanter. Watch the scene with him and youll see why. Pingers makes sense, I often call the act of tapping something for 1 direct damage a ping so...
Laser? What kind of name is that.... sigh, no respect for tradition.

This set comes with interesting cards for red/blue or green/blue or even red/green/blue merfolk decks, and don't forget Ceta Disciple.. Oh, and this card is to Prodigal Sorcerer + Prodigal Pyromancer, what Swerve is to Deflection + Shunt! :) By the way, many people on the internet think that it's a 2/2 creature because all other cards from this cycle are 2/2 creatures..

Wouldn't it be interesting to make a deck that's nothing but Lords and Changelings? It would be terrible, but interesting.

Really wish those were two hybrid mana, I don't have any decent UR decks, but my Tim deck needs this bastard.

So the Phyrexian Invasion caused cross-breeding between different species? I hope Earth never gets invaded by Phyrexians, or there may be "Donkey Humans"

This guy actually inspired me to make a Goblin/Merfolk deck. Still working out the kinks but I like it quite a bit.

Playing RedBlue I like this a lot better than Prodigal Sorcerer/Prodigal Pyromancer for the 1 CMC less.

Gelectrode should come next turn, Crushing Pain might become handy

@blindthrall

A lot of the good pingers are in both red and blue. You should consider making it a 2 colour deck so you get prodigal sorcerer

Part of an interesting cycle of 2-mana enemy color gold common creatures in Apocalypse:

Gaea's Skyfolk - GreenBlue (Elf Merfolk)
Goblin Legionnaire - RedWhite (Goblin Soldier)
Llanowar Dead - BlackGreen (Zombie Elf)
Putrid Warrior - BlackWhite (Zombie Soldier - later Warrior was added)
Razorfin Hunter - BlueRed (Merfolk Goblin)

Invasion, the first expansion in the block, had a cycle of 2-mana friendly color gold common creatures, all of which had protection from their shared enemy color:

Galina's Knight - WhiteBlue (Merfolk Knight)
Llanowar Knight - GreenWhite (Elf Knight)
Shivan Zombie - BlackRed (Barbarian Zombie)
Vodalian Zombie - BlueBlack (Merfolk Zombie)
Yavimaya Barbarian - RedGreen (Elf Barbarian)

As for this card itself, it's pretty good. Not only is it one of the cheapest CMC Tims in the game, but also two very relevant creature types, with a wealth of support from both colors: Crushing Pain, Sigil of Sleep, Curiosity...the list goes on. Interestingly enough, it's also the smallest creature in the cycle. I guess this might be out of respect for how good the ability can be, especially in Limited, and especially with multiple copies.

So wait.

Lord of Atlantis and Goblin Lackey both work with this guy?

Not only should this type NOT HAVE BEEN, but if they make EVEN ONE MORE, it will be a Legacy Deck. x.x

Let that sink in.

Also...looks like Hawkquaman. Seriously. There is a lot of messed up going on here, and the "Tim" ability is actually the last thing I'm worried about @.@

@JFM2796: Have you lived here long? Earth has plenty of Donkey Humans already. They are generally referred to as a--holes though :)

Why couldn't he be the other kind of razorfin, with the merfolk part on top, and goblin on the bottom?
