Woah that card ain't that bad actually. Two power for two mana is fine, it's immune to lots of black removal ("destroy target nonblack"), and it got evasion! Also, if someone wants to steal any of your creatures, this little dude allows you to simply sacrifice them in response. Just slap some equipment on him, like that +6/+6 thing, and you're good to go!

The only thing I'd be sacrificing would be the game, because if I'm playing this card i must really suck.

WotC you're doing it wrong.

Perhaps the good news is that it can sacrifice itself.

I like how the one person I generally disagree with (Majinara) is the only one that made some really good points about this card.

You guys are underestimating this card, I myself underestimated it until I tried it out. Just because it doesn't do something amazing or win you the game doesn't mean it's terrible or the creators are designing it badly. Yeah it's not BS (baneslayer), but what if everything was?

Any permanent that allows you to sacrifice things for free with a cost of two mana or less is good in my book. It is very quite often when I am playing black that I would much prefer to put my creatures into the graveyard (where I can get them back later) rather than have them exiled. This plus a 2/1 that flies on occaision in two awesome card types makes this very quite playable for me. I like the design, I like the flavor, I like the abiltiy.

But dies to exile... nope not that either.

Better yet? None of your creatures do either. Think of it as a black, non life related, Ravenous Baloth. If something wants to destroy your creatures, why not get something out of it? With Mortician Beetle out, this type of combo can become quite troublesome.

I want to know what it's eating.

Should at least have Infect.

Hey Wizards, cards like these make me walk right by booster packs. Just so you know.

Don't look at it as a creature, look at it like a cheap sacrifice outlet that can occasionally swing.

To say this isn't great in a sac deck is very short-sighted.
Works wonders in my Mortician Beetle sac deck.

People like you are the people who don't think about what they comment on, just give the card a quick look, rate it down, and post a comment calling it crap. Well you know what? I just won 1st place in a legacy tournament using a deck centered around this card, mortician beetle, and vengvine. No losses. You should think before you post your ideas on gatherer, because some people actually use it to help them with decks (ya think?) and dont want it clogged up with narcissistic, Unintellectual, unthinking, CRETINOUS comments that make gatherer a useless resource. Please think before you post BS (not baneslayer) on my forums.
Think about that next time you post your useless shit on gatherer. It REALLY doesn't help.
