Little known fact: "Golgari Decoy" is actually an anagram for "Give Me Deathtouch!"

Nice, a modern Taunting Elf with Golgari flavor. Not too shabby, though a bit on the expensive side.

Bad art. Good card.

A tad costly, but another neat combat trick to pull off. I'm seeing a theme of protecting bigger creatures... Regenerate him with Golgari Charm and keep him around for round 2!

Pros like me will combo this card with sleeper gems like Serpent's Gift.

This is the only scavenge card with a nonkeyword ability.
Wizards really didn't even try to make them interesting.

I was in the bathroom. The hut and the kiosk? Decoys, Lois, decoys!
You know what really grinds my gears? When WotC prints a strictly better version of a card that was already pretty good--Prized Unicorn.
Lots of fun - there's plenty of good pump in this set. Apparently dead elves make tastier feasts than dead unicorns.

This is great for putting your opponents creatures aside during the attack. It does the job Mortipede did in Ravnica, City of Guilds but at no additional cost. Pair it up with Necrobite and he becomes a boardsweeper. Or even better, put Skeletal Grimace on him to give him permanent regeneration.
These are all just ideas on nifty combat tricks. I bet the Gruul clans will be able to make the best use out of him when they arrive in Gatecrash.
It's very useful in limited aggro decks. Attack on turn 5 with this and other creatures. This will die so you can scavenge to make your evasive creature bigger to win damage races or make a creature out of reach for most removal or something...

This would be fun with Virulent Swipe as a combat trick.

Deathtouch and this card is a non-bo, guys. So you Serpent's Gift the Decoy, then everything blocks it. He can only assign two points of damage to the blockers, so only two things die. Now, if you pump his power up a bit, perhaps with other scavenge cards...but by that point you're going way out of your way to make the combo work.

Because scavenging Prized Unicorn would require all the colors, including pink and purple.

This isn't a card where the scavenge is cost-effective. However, he dies nearly all of the time. Either you're flushing out a valuable weak card (like Deathrite Shaman, I guess), or sucking up blockers, who usually kill him.
And I guess scavenge is the best ability for that, considering how often this goes to the grave.

2.5/5. Overcosted at 4 mana for a 2/2 body. It ability is nice but not worth the extra 2 mana.

I can't help but feel that this guy is underrated. If he were any other color, yes, he'd suck, but green can so easily muster enough to make this guy a game winner. I personally love drawing this guy in my elf deck centered around Ezuri, Renagade Leader. With just a few other 1/1 elves you can activate Ezuri's ability swing with everything, including the decoy, and just smash face. And heck you can even regenerate your 5/5 Golgari Decoy if you have an extra mana!

@Homelands: Well that one guy did suggest Virulent Swipe, which brings it up to 4. And that's pump and Deathtouch rolled into one card.

This is works incredibly well in my elf-tribe Master Biomancer deck. Get out a bunch of elves with huge counter bonuses, then Decoy my way to a win.
This is fast becoming one of my favourite cards in Standard.

Give it deathtouch maybe?

@Keiya: strange as it is, Pink is actually a color in MTG:
OK. Since my first comment didn't postt, here's a recap. Golgari Decoy. Gaze of the Gorgon from Ravnica. Better than deathtouch and keeps it a pureblood Golgari combo. The bonus of not playing standard.

You don't need to look outside of modern Ravnica to give him deathtouch. For a mere G, a Wasteland Viper would be happy to look out for your Decoy on his perilous journey. Use your extra power to kill another guy while you're at it.
On a good run that's 3 creatures off the board for your 2 card investment, you get as many attackers as you can spare through to the enemy, and you still get to scavenge the guy when the dust settles. There's advantage to be had there if your opponent doesn't have instant removal or another play, game winning advantage even.
