Well it is better in the mill deck. Arguably a staple for green in any scenario, though.

lol That's why I bought both Mirror Mastery and Devour for Power.

On the other hand, there was a sol ring in every deck. Why couldn't there be an E-Witness in every deck with green? I mean, like, Karador for crying out loud! They could've put a Swords in every deck with white so that each deck would have one of the two.

don't know why it's the top rated. It's alright but definately not the best.

I'll take Recollect in conjuncture with Djinn Illuminatus any day over this...

Still an awesome stable in EDH.

In EDH, very interesting because it allows for repetition. In 60-card formats, incredibly good because it amplifies the redundancy of your deck quite powerfully. I use her in my Zoo deck because one, she's a body, and two, she often rebuys a countered Ranger of Eos, a slightly used Path to Exile, or a fetchland so I can continue making land drops to power out a cat and goblin rush with Ghostway backup.

Maybe better than regrowth with so many ways to cheat in creatures or search for them.

I like to think of this card as a cantrip on steroids.

She's pretty good in Survival of the Fittest/Recurring Nightmaresdecks. ANY deck thats green havy, really. regrowth with a body for 1 extra green 'nuff said

Gosh darn this is such a good card for so many Gx decks, though really, really shines in control decks. She basically becomes cards 5 through 8 of your better cards. Counterspell? Sure. Maelstrom Pulse? Sure. Cryptic Command? Sure.

And if you have a way to copy or recur E-Wit? Oh, that's a lot of pain. I've used it alongside both Havengul Lich and Cackling Counterpart, and they're both pretty brutal. Counterpart especially becomes 1UU - get a 2/1 without spending a card.

One of the best cards in Magic, and a worthy inclusion in many Gx decks. 5/5 without a doubt.

An absolutely perfect card in all respects. Its synergy in a cycling deck that includes Astral Slide is a beautiful thing to witness, even from the other (losing) side of the table. In fact, it may be one of the most beautiful decks I've ever had the pleasure to play any deck against, and is certainly in the back of my mind as an inspiration whenever I get into the deck-making mood. All thanks in part to this card here.

I like it when Wizards prints cheap creatures that, rather than following in the footsteps of the powercreep mascot Vampire Nighthawk, actually make the player think about what they might best synergize with (you know, besides mama-ramp engines to play them or other beat-sticks of their kind). Creatures like

Surrakar Spellblade
Vedalken Mastermind
Mentor of the Meek

Creatures that do unique and moderately exploitable things (though we should avoid broken exploitable, ala Isochron Scepter), even if they're simple things, make for a ten times more fun meta-game than just stacking as many keywords as can fit onto the next tribally oriented objectively-better-than-all-precedents beat-stick.

This card languishes on the not-yet-reprinted list, while blue gets more and more broken cards every year.

My favorite use for Eternal Witness is snagging back my Profane Command in my B/G EDH deck that features a lot of ramp. Then I can sac Eternal Witness to High Market or Grim Backwoods or something similar, and Profane Command to kill a creature or burn someone, and reanimate the Witness, of course grabbing back the Profane Command again. It's certainly not the most efficient use of this fantastically versatile little gal, but that silly synergy has won me more games than it probably should have.
