Remember, it puts it on top of the library not into their hand. Which is annoying as hell. Also, you could combo it with ghoulcaller's bell to just kill the damn thing.
This'll be great in EDH, especially if you do something to shuffle their library afterwards.

You now KNOW their next draw, and prevent the from advancing their game, and remove a threath -- all at once. It is better than an outright kill on any medium-low threaths. Bump a bear and they're a turn behind, because they cannot draw a better creature or a land. Force them to shuffle or put their top card in their graveyard to stop massive threaths.
Or just save a counterspell now that you know what card they're going to draw.
I love this card...

Could you use this to put a creature from your graveyard back on top of your library? It doesnt specify anything about where the creature has to be when you return it to the top.

@ Shadowstorm42 A creature card is only a creature on the battlefield. If a card refers to a 'creature', it is always on the battlefield. If it could be returned from the graveyard, it would be reffered to as a 'creature card'.
Same goes for other permanents. You don't search your library for a land, you search for a land card. But if you destroy one that's already on the battlefield, it's reffered to just as 'land'.

I guess it's okay... it's card advantage, but the flashback comes soooo slow.
Oops, I actually assumed it was flashback 9U all this time, don't know why. At 7U, I might try to use it.

They need to get rid of flashback. Less because it's not a good mechanic, it is... Sort of... I'm just sick of what wizards keeps trying to make it justify.
Overall, another very nice piece of art waited on an unplayable card.

"Return target creature to it's owner's hand. That player skips his or her next draw."
For the record: A spell or ability only refers to cards or permanents on the battlefield, unless they specify otherwise, or they refer to a type of card that could, by definition, never be on the battlefield.

Seems underrated. A card that nukes two draw steps and gains a huge amount of tempo on a regular basis has to be good. Especially with that art. Even if it costs 4 mana for its regular use.
Also, this card is a real star in a mill deck with something like mesmeric orb. Basically kills a creature, and even if you mill it yourself it's still pretty sweet when you get to enough mana.

This is absurd in limited. It comes very, very close to simply Time Walking them, TWICE, as that 8 mana isn't really a huge deal when innistrad limited is as slow as it is. Using this when you're ahead on board position, and they don't have any good attacks, really IS a Time Stretch. Freaking amazing for an uncommon.

People comparing this unfavorably to removal don't get it. 3U gets you:
1) A clearer attack with one less guy on the board.
2) Knowledge of your opponent's next draw.
3) They have to spend a draw step AND mana just to return the game state to what it was on the last turn.
4) Delayed land drops/answers. Even just being able to pin someone at 2-3 lands for another turn is a VERY big deal.

Underrated. People see "put target creature on it's owner's library" and think Unsummon, but forget that just as (if not more) importantly, it also prevents your opponent from getting a new card next draw. Even though the flashback cost may seem expensive, preventing the other player from drawing new cards late game could win you the game in some cases. Some of the most memorable art in Innistrad, as well.

I played both this and Griptide in my deck at the release party today. In my very last game, I played Griptide, this, this flashbacked and finally Crushing Vines. I just had two creatures, a 1/1 and Angel of Flight Alabaster, and I totally destroyed my opponent. He lost his single blocker/attacker four turns in a row.

The artwork is hot. The card cost is disgusting. No matter what reasoning we can come-up with for the advantages the spell nets you, the bottom line is for 4 mana there are just way too many better advantages out there, and you can just forget spending 8 mana for it to flashback?? lolol, no chance. If this is all your 8 mana in going to get you, then perhaps you need better cards in your graveyard. To me this is unacceptable for blue, as if it was another punishment to blue. The flashback cost is so repulsive that I simply consider this a temporary bounce effect for 4 mana, ugh, oh yeah don’t forget that it’s a sorcery. ½ star rating.

I don't get why this is rated low... the effect is insane. If your opponent is top decking or close to it, this basically says "at best, you'll be back to the same board state next turn". You can use it to screw with land drops if they're getting stuck. Seals up the game if they absolutely need to draw an answer to you. And, if the game draws out, you can do it again for some major card advantage. This is one of my favorite cards in the set... I don't think it stands out when reading it, but it's served me well in play.

@Chrs84
Are you kidding me? Some other monoblue sorceries that does the same but does not have flashback cost 3 mana(see Time Ebb). If this costed three mana as well, it would be fairly scary(and would probably cost a lot more in terms of money, which would make budget players sad). Also, the flashback cost is for later in the game for you to play. In a control deck, you really wouldn't mind getting to play this again, especially when you aren't able to draw something else to delay your opponent. Furthermore, it's not a temporary bounce, it's a big delay. Now your opponent HAVE to draw that creature AGAIN and cast it AGAIN rather than being able to draw what he/she would normally be able to draw the next turn, which could be something a lot more threatening than that creature that you force him/her to draw. Delay your opponent like this can really make a big impact on how effectively he/she plays for the rest of the game.
Also, if you don't like how it's a sorcery, you could always run Griptide.
Pair this up with Ghoulcaller's Bell and other mill cards can turn this into something that kills even indestructible creatures.

very very powerful effect in limited formats.
four is a fair cost but I think they could have pushed the flashback cost a little more.
I give it a 4/5 based on limited power. if the flashback cost was say 5 CC I could see this card getting a lot more attention and the cost of 5 isn't broken.

I really, REALLY want to make a deck involving Panoptic Mirror , this, other "put on top of library" things, and a lot of discard things. Lock down your opponents deck, make him keep discarding cards...Sure he could just not play a creature...But then you basically automatically win considering he would have no defense.

Things like this can go well in a blue/black discard. Not only do you pin them early with bounce/discard effects. Later you make sure they never get a way to claw out of it. Eat their hand then continuously bounce their creature to their library with this and cards like it. Evil and.. pretty funny.

I get that it gives you the equivalent of another turn, but haven't you just wasted your extra turn giving yourself an extra turn when you could have been building your board presence? .
