I like the additional mill threat. If the flying 2/5 wasn't enough to keep creatures at home, this "real" threat of being decked will deter a non-zero percent of attackers.

why is wizards promoting mil again? yes its a good archetype in the history of the game but my problem is that its dull and has absolutely no impact on board position.
you could argue that burn is the same thing as that in board position effect when targeting a player but 20 life is much easier to achieve than 60 cards.
boo mil, thought ulamog brought about your permanent demise

@ Kyzer: They're bringing back mill because Innistrad is shaping up to be a graveyard based set. Hell, they're bringing back FLASHBACK.
As for the card.... AT LAST! Azure Drake, go *** yourself!!

I really like the design of this card but I wish it cost less to cast, even if it was a 0/5 with defender for 4 mana, or even 3, but that may be asking too much.

Reprints from Ravnica block are always A-OK with me!
This thing is a house in limited, where small cheap fliers reign. It can block them all day and force your opponent to mill in a format where running your deck out of cards occurs at a much higher rate. And if you have nothing to block you can get in 2 evasive damage.
I like how M12 has a big creature at uncommon for each color. Serra Angel for white, this for blue, Sengir Vampire for black, Volcanic Dragon for red, and I'm not sure abot green. Cudgel Troll or Carnage Wurm, maybe? Good card for mill. In mill high power shouldn't be a concern. This guy would mostly stay on the defense.

I don't like blue mill. I would rather see red mill that targets all players (yourself included).

This card is ok in standard play, but is an absolute beast in booster draft tourneys, where mill is a more viable strategy if you draft wisely. I was lucky enough to get two of these in my last booster draft - my first opponent fireballed one and ended up milling Chandra, Incinerate, Doom Blade, a mountain and a swamp. Then I cast the second one and used Alluring Siren to force attacks. 40 card decks disappear quickly.

Welcome back to standard old buddy. One of the most irritating things to swing into, and I love it for that.

I'm a fan of this, especially for limited. In M12 draft, this goes near the top of my draft board.

i absolutely love this card. it's stalled opponents for absolute ages while my Hedron Crabs and Scalpelexis take their deck apart. and if they attack with anything less than 5 (excluding deathtouch), then they lose cards in vain. and if they have a giant creature, without trample, this will kill their deck if they attack. only way around it is direct removal or sweeps. i would've loved a 0/5 for 2-3B, but that may have been too good. or drop the CMC by 1 or 2 and give it defender. still great 4/5

Hm, it's nice to see blue get a decent creature while staying totally in-color (unlike Goliath Sphinx). Bonus points for being the only non-rare/mythic rare sphinx in existence.

The one card with the initials BS that isn't BS.
Don't get me wrong, I like it a lot, but I'd love it if it costed less mana and was rare.
Cheza, please stop thinking about color, because it's clear you're doing it wrong.
I would use this guy as a defender for my mill deck, but he's just a little too expensive. At the point I would get him out, my engine would already be running with other defenders. Still worthy of consideration, though.

One of my favorite cards EVER! Not the best card ever, not the most powerfull card ever, not the most versatile card ever, but just one of my favorite cards ever. I just LOVE IT!!!

Best use for this card? Block a Little Girl and make your opponent tear his card in half.

@Lash_of_Dragonbreath: ummm serra sphinx? and how is goliath sphinx out of color? instead of downsizing its P/T, and giving it unblockable, they boosted it and gave it flying--a keyword totally in blue's color pie. Lorthos, The Tidemaker is in the same block and he's just as big, and ever more devastating in certain lights. Or how about

Don't mill your opponent. Mill yourself.

When I first saw this, I saw a blue, slightly-overcosted Phyrexian Obliterator.
