Arguably the most glorious reprint in the whole set.

I KNOW I bring her up WAY too often.... x)

but COME ON :p I am a very subjective MAGIC player, and half of the entire appeal of Kaalia of the Vast is just that I think the color palette of playing White, Black, and Red cards together is really cool, if you pick the right ones. And THIS art happens to be a Judge Foil and thus hard to acquire xP I did not use Karmic Guide before, and now I shall, because the Karmic Guide I want is more affordable. :P

I think Kaalia is the kind of card that attracts a ...VASTLY disproportionate amount of attention on Gatherer :P Not just me. She's good for the kinds of reasons that lots of people will just autocard to her. Art, Flavor, degenerate over-worked combos, all the things that paint a big Attention Target on people's faces in multiplayer high-strategy games.

She's not good in Legacy, and cards that aren't good Legacy and aren't Legal anywhere else is what Gatherer EXCELS at calling attention to. (Mistform Ultimus. Scornful Egotist. Gleemax.) She's kind of a Face of Magic. Not as much as Jace, maybe, but still just one of those cards/characters that people aren't ever going to stop talking about anytime soon.

And Karmic Guide happens to be a much more classy card to put in a Kaalia deck than, say Baneslayer Angel or Avacyn :) So it IS a big deal that Kaalia players can get their hands on this old card to help make their decks look a bit less obnoxious!!! ^_^ :D

I think Wizards doesn't ever have to conscientiously think about Kaalia again, and just making the game 'as normal' will automatically provide her support in pretty much every release :D

A pleasantly surprising reprint.

I'm so glad they made a reprint of her with the promo art.
These are the kind of reprints I like to see.
She's a beauty and I can't wait to see how she does in my angel deck,
though I wonder what purpose she serves in this Bant EDH.

Also, to the infamous DarthParallax, your waifu commander is lame.
She actually has NO flavor. I have a pure angel, a pure demon, and a pure dragon deck just to proudly say that I do not run that ***ty cleric.

Also Pacifism

There, I destrolled your entire strategy.

I wish people's comments were actually about the card the comments go under... isn't that the point?

I finally picked up a Karmic Guide this year to, not surprisingly, combo with Reveillark. I wish I had waited, as this version has much better art, the new frame, and the correct creature types listed. If only I had known.

Commander 2013 has some awesome reprints, this included. I can't believe we're supposed to get sets like this every year now.

Working together with the other angel, Adarkar Valkyrie, they bring back one creature each turn.

Then... throw in Derevi, Empyrial Tactician for more untap shenanigans and bring more stuff back.

Not very easy to abuse with flicker, which is what 1/3rd of Evasive Maneuvers is built around. Protection from black is awesome, and the flying feels like it's more flavor than anything, but that doesn't make it any less usable. 4/5
