There's a way to get around fading, too. It's called Doubling Season, my boy!

With a ridiculous drawback like that, you'd think that it would cost less. This is when wizards still thought timmy creatures needed to be 'balanced'.

I hate this guy. You can't even use it with Sneak Attack. Totally worthless.

Let's see... you pay seven mana, and he comes out tapped. So he can't block, no giving him haste for another attack and no Sneak Attack. Then, you get two attacks out of him. And... no trample? Geez, a Spire Owl can stop him cold.
That's why the Behemoth is really just the worst 10/10 there is.

A spectacular candidate for Instill Energy if there ever was one. Touch of Vitae would work as well, but then we're talking 10 mana down that turn. Would be nice if it can connect with it's swing, but it's more likely to get chump blocked, or removed.

I can see with superb luck, one can get him out untapped with haste and trample by turn 4 in a blue/green deck, but then that's four turns of your opponent prepping a far better scenario. Pandemonium looks like the best bet.
Well, I gotta agree with MasterOfEtherium for once, the amulet combo isn't bad. Another thing I don't think we have mentioned here is fling, but that should only be done if you cheat this guy in, otherwise it's too costly.

"The Behemoth would be untapped, so it could block for a turn, but it still doesn't have haste. You still only get one non-evasive attack, for seven mana, from this POS." ~scumbling1
You get two swings. "This creature enters the battlefield with two fade counters on it. At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a fade counter from it. If you can't, sacrifice it."
play it. Upkeep, remove one. one left. Swing. Upkeep, remove one. none left. Swing. Upkeep, none to remove, sack it.
Fading is different from vanishing. Which is why Calciderm, the "Timeshifted" version of Blastoderm, has an additional counter on it.

This card is obviously terrible, but there's still one thing up for debate: are the card's mechanics worse than it's artwork?
@ KarmasPayment: You're right; I've become accustomed to Vanishing now. But you're still going to need more than Amulet of Vigor to get an extra attack out of this guy.

I've always wanted to use this guy in a deck. Now my legacy Sutured Ghoul re-animator runs four of him.

This card is pretty terrible, but the (relatively) cheap 10 power has its uses in wacky combos. The fading drawback has also been mitigated with the introduction of proliferate and other counter-manipulating cards. Still probably not all that good.

So many drawbacks its just not worth it. For all the drawbacks it should really cost 5 or have trample.

parallel lives + feed the pack + this guy = 20 2/2 wolfs on turn 7 (though most likely earlier since you could run it in mono-green with a huge manaramp.)

Pandemonium, then your 2 swings, then fling. A green/red card if i saw one. Especially if you can give it trample, a feat easy in green now. A solid 2.5, maybe a 3.
