I don't like the art for this card. It seems too... plain.
I mean seriously, what did the artist do, wake up in the morning, roll out of bed, forgo his coffee and draw this while still wearing his pajamas?
A stylish flowing cape doesn't make this okay.

This little guy won me some matches in a sealed tournament. He even rose from the dead courtesy of ghoulcaller's chant to finish the job. I gotta love the little shirtless freak!

This is great; an aggressive, evasive two-drop. Especially good with Rakish Heir. Blocking is overrated anyways.

Think about it, aggro vamp. deck, this guy won't be blocking- he'll be evasively kicking some serious butt.

It would appear one of Zendikar's vampires got lost.

Another prime target for Furor of the Bitten in R/B Vampire decks. Be careful when running this with Bloodcrazed Neonate however, as you may find yourself without blockers in your 2-drop spot.

So... what's going on with the art? Do vampires just kind of hover around in a standing position on the Innistrad plane? He's not standing on anything and he doesn't look mid-flight at all. This is seriously bothering me.

This card put the "Wins" in my Innistrad League RDW (Rakdos Deck Wins). I lost count of how many games I won by dropping a turn-2 Interloper and curving into Rakish Heir and/or Inquisitor's Flail, then racing like a madman until my opponent was within range of a flashed-back Bump in the Night. The drawback is easily overshadowed by tribal synergies. He's been in my Pauper Cube ever since the beginning, where he still wins drafts without any help from vampire lords.
For extra mecha-vampire awesomeness in Pauper, just add Copper Carapace.

this card is underrated by people who don't seem to get how vampires work. vampires are an aggressive tribe, they want to deal a lot of damage quickly with relatively little mana. vampires are not meant to block, they're meant to swing. if you're getting swung at, this is why you run removal. they swing at you with a field of tapped creatures, you kill off their attackers with things like doom blade, go for the throat, tragic slip, lightning bolt, terminate, murder, etc.
