Seems like a solid two drop for aggro.

It's like they broke Bloodghast up into two parts! (this and Vampire Interloper)

But they weren't happy yet so they made it grow!

Lovingly dubbed "Blood-Crazed Neo-Nazi" among my play group.

Solid two drop for aggro deck. The tribal bonus it gets is pushes it over the top.

Forced attack is a pretty huge drawback. You'd better be prepared to clear the way. But it would be fantastic in a Bedlam Deck.

Worse than slith firewalker, but still playable.

Playable? Maybe. Effective? Definetly not. I have quite a few cards with a low CMC that could make short work of this.

In limited, I think I'd run this in every red deck. While at its best when you have multiple ways (and by that I mean a whole bunch) to clear its path on the third turn, it always forces your opponent into blocking, and more often than not unpreferably. Plus, it triggers morbid. So...I'm thinking RU and RG are the red archetypes to draft.

Someone nabbed a playset of these and a playset of Gruesome Deformity in limited last time I played. Talk about annoying.

Slith firewalker you can play in pauper? I'm sold :D

On one hand, Neonate plus Furor of the Bitten gives you a 4/3 Slithpire with a redundant must-attack clause for 3 CMC, which isn't too bad. On the other hand, you could most likely get something just as good without the liability of must-attack, or without taking up so much space in your library, so...

Nightbird's Clutches happens to help vampires out a lot since they like getting through and drinking from the opponent so often.

I think this card wins the flavor award for me for Innistrad. I can just imagine some twilight loving 12 year old girl running around biting everyone's wrist when this card is played. Yet it always COULD become ridiculous huge and powerful, so you need to kill it quick and get it over with. Fun design space.

Not great in a vacuum, but pair her with Stromkirk Noble in an aggro deck, throw in some Volt Charges and other handy red removal, and you could end games very quickly indeed.

She LOOKS threatening, if you take your opponent seriously. never underestimate a card.... its always the ants that eat you alive...or....something...mystical like that..

regardless, isnt this pretty much the essence of red? the longer it burns, the brighter the fires get? oh, and just torch anything that gets in your way, lets not forget that. what ELSE are 'target creature' burn spells for?

I tried to run a set of this in a vampire deck, just to find out that his growing ablility isn't worth the effort you'll need to do to keep it on board.

I love to hate, or hate to love this card. I've tried so many ways to make her and her red kin work, and despite the headache, still can't seem to not want to use her.

Someday my dream of Red Vampires might be realized.

*sigh*

I run a set of this in my Casual Vampires. Gruesome Deformity, Cobbled Wings, and Crossways Vampire are my best friends :-)

Solid card, I personally love it. In the right deck, it can be a serious threat. I love enchanting it with Furor of the Bitten.

I do hope Cynthia Sheppard gets to do more art for MTG though. In my opinion, this card has the best vampire art in the set.

Sure, she's decent at picking up counters. But what happens when she's stuck at 5/5 and your opponent drops a Wurmcoil Engine or a Phyrexian Obliterator or Griselbrand. Not the sort of stuff you want to be attacking into...

Decent card, the drawback is really not so bad, especially if you manage to give it flying or some other evasion (like gruesome deformity) before it has to attack, or even if it can just get through and hit the opponent once. Managed to get inquisitor's flail and angelic armaments onto it in a two-headed giant game and take out something like 20 life before it got doomblade'd. Swap the armaments out for bladed pinions and then we're talking.

It's great, because I've always fantasized about being drained of blood by a lusty red-headed neo-Nazi in a lace nighty.

Ah, the reasons why I play this game...

Fun fact: "Neonate" literally means "newborn".

Because of the flavor text I kinda wish it read "when bloodcrazed neonate has 3 or more +1/+1 counters on it, it no longer must attack each turn." But not every card in innistrad can be a flavor home run.
