Would have been much more playable as an instant. I know anyone can say that about any sorcery, but red sorceries are always meh.

This card is just hilarious. I know Innistrad is supposed to be a horror set, but it's good to see that there's still some comedic relief.
That guy probably really regrets giving that girl that necklace.

@thebrodwarjc Yeah, but there's no reason to make it an instant. It's meant to encourage you to attack. The only time you would want an instant version is multiplayer, which means 99% of all players would never use it as anything other than a sorcery.
Sure, I can contrive two-player game scenarios where my opponent got sloppy and I defuse another combat trick with this one -- Giant Growth your creature in response to declaring attackers? Well that's just stupid, because now I know one creature I'm going to target with this. -- but those are so far fetched that it's like saying, "works well against people who don't know what they're doing."

"Giant bird carries you away" = "two target creatures can't block"? Er... okay... I guess...

It's ok for limited I guess, though since it by itself does nothing (you need creatures that are worth to attack with and be able to kill your opponent or survive counter attacks), I wouldn't add too many to my limited decks.
Using a pair in my Werewolf beatdown deck, and let me tell you - its NICE to have one of these in hand.
Open up opponent's defenses for to get some damage in, then when you get your board position established, (Terror of Kruin Pass, Wildblood Pack, Howlpack Alpha etc.) flash it back for and "Good Game".

So the Nightbird is a red creature? Huh.

The actual ability is very red but the art and name seem very blue. I could see this as a blue card except it just taps them and it would be perfectly flavorful. The ability is good and all but I still want them to just reprint Falter already, it's what we all compare these panic cards to anyways.

Can this target the same creature twice? Or would that require the targeting to be resolved separately?

Like it.
Since it is looked down upon, I always seem to draft this on FNM's.
It always makes for a grand scene when you're attacking with Krallenhorde Wantons or something of grand attack without Trample.

So I've been tooling around with this card for a while. There is one application it could be constructed viable in, Goblins. There's so many times you NEED to have the blockers up or be stuck on the very wrong side of 5 or 6 damage. For 2 mana this means you miss that very key block, taking that extra 2 or 3 damage. Flashback is extremely important as even if they manage to Flames of the Firebrand your guys, you can rebuild the board state and squeeze in just enough damage for the win.
I just ended up going 2 of in the deck since it's not a card you want to see over creatures, but it really has helped me end some games already. Don't look past it!

As many others have said, not a four-of, but definitely worth including in any deck running red.

This card really sold Innistrad for me. A world plagued by infinite terrors of the night. Just imagine going down to the ye olde tavern only to be abducted by the NIghtbird. Why does it exist, where did it come from, why is it an enormous bird. These are all questions the inhabitants of Innistrad don't have time to ask because they're too engulfed by the constant fear of the Nightbird.
