This guy's pretty cool. Might find a way into my Cat/Lifegain deck.

Like the art, like the text, like the mana cost, and like the rarity. Worth a late pick in draft if you're short on 1 drops, but I'd rather see Gideon's Lawkeeper. It shouldn't see much constructed play, except maybe for a couple months in my lifegain deck until Felidar Sovereign rotates out.

Perimeter Captain is better imho, mostly because he gets a tribe to support him, and buffs other defenders (including this one!)

No, Wizards, this doesn't replace Soul Warden.

ugh, better than dawnglow moth in every way. lives long enough to block twice, worth keeping around and better creature types. cool, awesome, stellar, but not happy about the disparity :(

Hah, this guy can actually annoy the hell out of oponnents in limited. Prerelease, I was playing against a Green Trample deck. Hes has three Yavimaya Wurms down. No sweat, if he swings, I block with this, toughness soaks three of the damage, lifegain replinishes the other three, the Aura-pumped Sun Titan thats holding as vanguard of the deck brings him back by attacking next turn(I couldn't afford to block with the titan, as my Gideon's Lawkeeper was keeping his Onyx Mage from surprise-deathtouching his creatures)

@SoulShatterer:
First, how the hell does Gideon`s Lawkeeper stop Onyx Mage from giving deathtouch to his creatures?
Second, what do you mean with "no sweat"? Okay, your trick soaks the damage from one of the wurms. Now you`re only being dealt 12 DAMAGE. How the hell is 12 damage per turn "no sweat"?
... Anyway, quite a handy card. Great early blocker as 0/3 is likely to survive for a while, and 3 life every time it blocks is a lot. Your opponent is likely not to attack at all if you`ve got this and he hasn`t got anything able to kill it.

It's no Wall of Hope, but it's pretty decent in it's own right. It seems like I could make some sort of cool deck with this and Goldenglow Moth.

Nice variation on Wall of Wood. And you got to love the art.

This guy may not be overwhelmingly powerful, but man, I definitely prefer this to goldenglow moth. I'll take repeated 3-life boons over a single 4-life infusion any day. Not really sure why the moth is rated higher, to be honest. This guy has triple the durability!
@ Holy Cause: Perimeter Captain is definitely the better card of the two, but I'd be tempted to play this alongside him just for the fun of it; "Oh, you're swinging with your Pelakka Wurm? Okay, I'll chump block with my Pride Guardian and gain, oh, 7 life."

Not the best one cost white card.....but a great early game blocker which allows you atleast to set up a nice defence and hopefully some life.....works well with Righteousness .

Does anyone think this, Perimeter Captain, Wall of Omens, etc, along with Felidar Soveriegn would be a neat casual deck?

The advantage of Goldenglow Moth over this is that the moth flies. Yeah, it'll only block once, but that once can be Emrakul or Marit Lage.

a very good, quick, cheap fast, card. i once gained 23 health by just having 2 of these guys out on the feild!
I find this and Ghostly Possession to be an excellent combo. Throw in a Mask of Avacyn in for extra measure to give yourself a near indestructible defender that allows you to gain three life every time it blocks.

I actually put 4 of these in a budget control deck. I must say, it did a fantastic job at holding back the tides of aggro, and buying time for my deck to bear fruit.
