Mediocre infect card, but I can say the name all day. Tine shrike, tine shrike, tine shrike. Now my mouth feels numb.

If its not people complaining about powerful mechanics being to over costed and undersized, than it is people screaming about power creap and how all the good creatures are ruining magic.
Come on people! Do you want potentially deadly creatures that have reasonable risks, or do you want to die to poison counters on every other game? Balancing is a very tricky and demanding job and I think they did well with this. If the opponent can't answer it, they die very quickly. Less than 5 hits if you already did some damage before hand. This give you the option of having a flying infect without having to be black, thus expanding deck builds, which is a good thing.
Now stop complaining, you entitled self-centered brats.

Better than it looks. More often than not, this puts your opponent on a 5 turn clock; in the worst case, it kills a blocker or draws out a removal spell, and in the best case it randomly wins you games.

3/5. Solid card, but not game changing. Won me a ton of games in limited.

it hits for 2 infect and isnt easily blocked. so its almost a 4/1 flying for 4. infect has a much bigger effect than keywords like first strike, trample or haste. i think we are really getting spoiled with most infecters. at least this one is kinda balanced.

another good white trick. people need to rate based off the color synergy as well, don't just look at this and go, a 4 drop for a 2/1 flying infect? Meh, Plague Stinger! Love to throw in this and the Priest of Norn just for fun in white sealed if I can get both or enough white cards.

A flying infect is good, but it still seems a little overcosted. I think I'll keep thrummingbird.

balanced since infect are generally OP, still so few infect creatures for white? and if You ARE going to make infect why not go green or black?

this guy is good, remember Loxodon Partisan and Accorder Paladin? An evasive dude that can be pumped with green and battle-cry'd is why this is so good...
However, it doesn't really taste white. Replace the sun with a skull and make the border color black... I mean the flavor text already points to a black card.

Anyone care to explain how this is even remotely white, or is this just the 10 billionth example of "Oh let's give White every f**king part of the color pie cuz it's not broken enough yet!" again?

@ EternalLurker: White is getting some infect cards to chow how Phyrexia is taking over every color. Infect is not a Black ability it is a Phyrexian ability.

When compared to Lost Leonin, this card should cost because of Lost Leonin's relation to the corresponding non-Infect vanilla power level of its time. Lost Leonin is Elite Vanguard for 1 more mana, but with Infect. The corresponding creature for Tine Shrike is Stormfront Pegasus. However, for some reason Tine Shrike costs 2 more mana instead of the typical 1 more mana for Infect. It's ok as it is, but would have been cool if it costed 1 less. Anyway, compare Plague Stinger to Bog Imp. I know the Imp isn't recent, but the Stinger is the same card except with Infect and a different creature type. As White Infect stands, (of the 4 creatures), I would say the most playable is between Lost Leonin and Priests of Norn. Sadly, neither of these are really stellar but that can be "generally expected" of commons. Coincidentally, every White Infect creature is at common rarity. Notably for this card, Lost Leonin is 1 more mana for Infect on an uncommon creature, whilst this is 2 more mana for an Infect version of a common creature. However, making the few White Infect creatures all commons seems to show that Wizards deliberately made White Infect in general bad or at best mediocre, maybe better if mixed with another color. Sad to say, White Infect is a let down to us hopefuls who wanted to play a legitimately good White Infect deck when Besieged came out, hoping New Phyrexia would have great cards to build around.

@KitaFer: the white infecters (though not many) were to represent Phyrexia's tainting of all 5 colors of mana. See Porcelain Legionnaire or Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite for my white Phyrexia.

I like how people seem to think White is all sunshine and happiness and candy.
Phyrexian White is evil. Evil evil evil, and all will be sutured into the Orthodoxy. What I will say is flying Infect should really be more blue than white. Priests of Norn is a better example of how white Phyrexia should work: Struggle against it, and you'll only keep hurting yourself.
