It's a forest or a plains or an island or a swamp or a mountain.

Settle this once and for all for me, wise WOTC community.
When a "Terramorphic Expanse" is target for destruction by an "Acidic Slime" entering the battlefield (or anything else for that matter), can the "Terramorphic Expanse" owner activate it's ability by tapping & sacrificing before being destroyed and cause the destroy land spell/ability to fail?
Cheers.

@silas77: I recommend you download the comprehensive rules ... this particular incident would be under "stack". Those rules always help me, there's nothing they can't answer ^^

@ Silas77 Yes his ability would be canceled because it checks twice: once when triggered (when Acidic Slime enters the battlefield it checks to make sure there is a legal target) and once when it resolves (the effect is happening, is there still a legal target?) It would happen like this:
Player A: Tap five forests play Acidic Slime (then there's a time where he's being cast if he isn't countered before he enters play his 'triggered' ability triggers) Acidic Slime has entered the battlefield I choose Player B's Terramorphic Expanse to destroy with his ability. (He must choose a legal target which unless it has shroud it most likely is).
Player B: Sacrifices Terramorphic Expanse to search for a Plains and put it on the battlefield tapped.
Player A's Acidic Slime 'triggered' ability checks again as it resolves, since Terramorphic Expanse no longer exists, it has no target and therefore is canceled completely. It doesn't get to choose a new target since the trigger of Acidic Slime coming into play has happened and it gets the effect only once.
And this card in almost any domain deck I would include 4 of. Also very good with landfall from Zendikar.

Safest fetchland there is, as while the land comes into play tapped, you dont have to play anything other then this card for the land.
This + Crucible of Worlds + Fastbond = Near-infinite landfall. Throw in a Zuran Orb and you're golden. However, you pretty much need to be playing casual for this to work since Fastbond is banned/restricted.
Lukemol, If I run Crucible of Worlds,Fastbond, and Zuran Orb, I don't need terramorphic expanse for infinite landfall, because I get that anyway. And running Gemstone Mine in a Crucible/Fastbond/Orb deck is better for getting five colors of mana than running terramorphic expanse and five basic lands, simply because it requires fewer slots and is much simpler. Terramorphic expanse is a great card, but not for the Crucible/Fastbond/Zuran Orb combo.

A must have for most multicolored decks. Goes great with Landfall. Probably my favorite example of this is the Hedron Crab
