One of my favorite cards of all time. The art, flavor and effect are absolutely perfect.
Automatic 4-of in any green sideboard.

Dash Hopes wasn't that much of a threat, was it? I mean sure I got someone to pay 15 life with two of it and a twincast, but still...

@internox10 In all recent core sets, each color gets a card that hates its enemy colors. There was even an article a few weeks ago talking about how the green one would be new. How could you NOT call it?

"Draw a card."
Would not have broken anything in my opinion. ... or perhaps Standard wouldn't like it. Oh well.

@Enchantment_Removal: Uh, yeah, that would have actually made this absurdly broken.

"In response, I'll play Autumn's Veil!!" "Negate it." ... At least you made them waste a second counter.

I think Vines of the Vastwood is better at protecting against removal, but this might be more desirable given that Mana Leak is back. I'm not really sure how to evaluate this for limited.

i feel like this should have had split-second, so it wouldn't be able to be countered.

This will make some excellent sideboard material. And just cause it itself can be countered doesn't mean anything. You're opponent's down a counterspell and probably quite a bit of mana for only one green. It will still make it safer to play your other stuff at the very least. A one cost counter-bait is not that bad.

I myself like the fact that now, each color has its own "opponent color targeted" card.
Just the fact that each does something iconic to its color to the opponent colors is nice now that there is an actual cycle.

There's no doubt that this card is good, but I think that it's best showing is going to be in Vintage/Legacy, where your opponent's counterspells are the very bane of your existence. It does certainly have value as a Counter-Counter, it's best use is in junction with hand-refilling spells like Timetwister, Wheel of fortune, Time reversal, Memory Jar, Diminishing Returns, and the like. High-yield draw spells like those are usually counterproductive because it allows your opponent the chance to draw Force of Will and stop you in your tracks. With Autumn's Veil, if you play it at the beginning of your turn, it will protect your spells for the entire turn, regardless of how many times your opponent draws a counterspell.

Meh I don't know.. honestly great sable stag was awesome because it was a creature. This is a spell that does nothing against other decks, can be counterspelled itself, and then only works on blue and black.
I imagine seeing things like this...
p1 casts warpriest of thune
p2 casts mana leak
p1 laughs and plays autumn veil
p2 casts spell pierce, also for 1 mana, and stops the autumn veil..
p1 makes frowny face after using up two cards just to get counter spelled.
Also, wotc printed the exact answer to this in blue only a set ago.. mind break trap anyone? It exiles and is free when you're opponent plays extra spells, like idk, autumn's veil for instance.

Play the mind game; cast this during your upkeep.
Definitely a Canadian dryad. Look at all those maple leaves floating around.
Who really thinks that this card's ability to be countered is a bad thing? As far as I can tell, your opponent has limited resources and can't go countering every single spell.

Not so great in constructed, but pretty great in limited.

Actually the list of black counterspells is a bit longer than two. Countersquall, Dromar's Charm, error from Trial // Error, Perplex, Punish Ignorance, Soul Manipulation, Undermine, Withering Boon and the already mentioned Dash Hopes. but of course, all but two of these cards are also blue.
The use of this card is maybe more for legacy and vintage. where we already see Guttural Response, which is worse in every point except it's manacost.
A good trick with this, is to use it as a Overmaster leaving the opponent in the though choice.
I like the fact that it can both counter counterspells and removal.

This helps green get out that one fatty you need to win the game. Bye bye blue counter spells and black kill spells!!! A very nifty card.

It's an okay Sideboard choice as it is right now. I'd prefer this as a cantrip, but maybe this would make it a too powerful combo ensurance then: As opposed to Insist or Overmaster, this is an instant afterall, so this will normally cost your opponent at least one card too if you use it correctly. So this makes it more powerful if you play against the right opponent - but is a dead card if not.
For creatures i still prefer Vines of Vastwood, which will always find use especially since it can be kicked for a strength boost.

This card stops Withering Boon, a fact that most other people seem to have missed. Other than that, most of the black counters that aren't also blue have already been mentioned multiple times. Mostly because nobody knows about Withering Boon, because it's not really that strong.
On that subject, it also protects from blue removal: Pognify.
Anyway, this is a decent sideboard card overall. It's a nice way for an aggro deck to push through counters and removal. It's useful against both blue control and black everything.

Combust (red) - Deathmark always works for 1‚ this USUALLY works for 2.
Deathmark (black) - A one mana mono-Terminate.
Flashfreeze (blue) - Hard Cancel for U less.
Celestial Purge (white) - Strictly better than Iona's Judgement.
D.Counter = 1 or 2
Soft Removal = 2
Removal = 3
Counter = 2 or 3
Exile = 5 or 6
