I'm wondering when R/B became the new discard colors. Between this, blightning, sanity gnawers and thought hemorrhage Red is very quickly encroaching into what was for a long time Blue's territory. Sure, you still get cards like brainbite but I really miss the beautiful synergy between bounce and discard that exists in blue and black.

I guess we'll be seeing fewer cards like recoil, blizzard specter, and river's grasp as red steps into the discard spotlight.

I love this guy, and hate playing against him. Bad trade or discard a card and take two. FFFUUUUUU-
This entire cycle is sooo good.

A non-flying specter; very interesting.
The one-toughness kind of sucks, but was probably necessary to make them fair in limited.

Specter ability for 2 mana... and a swamp? sure. Err... needs to attack and not getting blocked... and a swamp?.
You know, there's a reason why most specters fly. Try considering Specter's Shroud instead of this thing unless you're playing limited. True, Mirrodin's block cycles next season... oh well.

Why should you bounce and counter it, when you can destroy it??? less card intensive! But I really think that wizard tries to keep discard as a nice middle game effect. Therefore red can feel free to attack early and adding some blightnings to seal the advantage against higher cmc decks.

In my opinion, white should have bounce and draw effects, blue should have more fateseal, extract and search effects, black should can keep the discard effect and red gains mill effects and anything that reduces maximum hand size.

Well let's think about an early goblin with 'each players hand size is reduced by 2'. This could be a discard effect in disguise, especially, if you can play more than one.

This little bugger got me to third place in a draft last friday. Granted, there were only six people, but he was the number one killer

Meh, in my meta, it's better to just play Ravenous rats. He usually only gets me one card anyways before my opponent plays a 1/1 chump blocker. Sometimes he doesn't even get me that, so ravenous rats is a much safer bet... pluh

@Dgregory; If you look back, Red has always been into hand disruption. Wheel of fortune, winds of change, etc. A multiplayer deck with Red/black/blue based on things like Megrim and Windfall and Underworld Dreams wouldn't be the same without red.

It's a lot more appealing than using a non-goblin such as Cabal Slaver.

A non-flying Scepter and a nonblack Zombie that's far more playable than the Null i remember? Interesting! :D
This might be a very nice choice besides Crypt Champion for a BR Zombie deck.

Too blah, next time print the ground guy with intimidate...wouldn't this ability on Bladetusk Boar make it good? Or at least fringe...

Could be nice for incidental discard in a R/B Goblin deck. I love the artwork!
