Right now, I like anything that makes people putting things into their graveyards' pay.

Right now millions of Magic players are breathing a sigh of relief that this card is Red and not Black and/or Blue.
Interesting synergy with various mill decks, and a nice counter against re-animator decks. The best use for it is obviously and added component to existing land destruction decks. You could also team with white and obliterate someone after Armageddon.
3.5/5 for combo potential.

Interesting card. Punish all the fetch-happys out there. Wow duh, I didn't even think about mill. I never play blue/red so I miss out on any kind of synergy there. I can mill someone easily down to 20 cards in a few turns and drop this bad boy. I'm actually excited now.

This card is good with just for the destruction and the minimal damage. But just to get you guys into wishful thinking mode, I'll point out that this is in the color of Ajani Vengeant.

Combining this with mill effects sounds awesome.

I was thinking in using Demolish for this block, but instead im going to use this, or maybe both, who knows, precautions are precautions. Destroying target land and making damage at the same time, H*LL Yeah!!!

I've got a Red/Green extended LD/Magnivore deck that this baby just found it's way into. It's a fun control deck, but this will add a lot of burn to it.

I think the existence of this card is now the only thing that will ever make Mudhole not a horrible card.

my friend runs a valakut, the molten pinnacle based deck with lots of fetch/sac lands. this belongs in my sideboard against him like there's no tomorrow. unfortunately, I only have two, so I fill it with two demolish not the same, but has the extra artifact thing.

A common? I am surprised. Maybe R&D is mixing rarity randomly. Like a blightning being common. Speaking of the latter, that card should have read: 'For every card discarded this way, ~ deals 1 damage'.

Far better than it looks, as if you're playing a deck with linear (more land destruction, like Goblin Ruinblaster or Mold Shambler) or synergistic (discard effects like Blightning or Slavering Nulls) cards this can start hitting for three, four, five damage without much trouble at all. It's a two-for-one, basically, and that's generally a good thing in a Magic game.
This is the card that made me make a standard legal LD deck. Trying to keep it mono red, though traumatize is tempting... This trule punishes the untapped land fetchers, first paying life for fetching, and then when this hits them. This is a definite win condition for LD decks.

This is like the new Anathemancer, except it acts as both a land destruction spell and it really shoots those fetch-happy players. It also really compares with Melt Terrain.

This is a PROPER land destruction spell. This is what a red card should look like. Zendikar is a great block. It is true to the colors and mechanics of Magic that have been around since the beginning of the game. Great stuff.

Duress + Terminate a Man Land + Mind Funeral + Rolling Terrain = you just made a new enemy! =D
This sounds EXACTLY like something Nicol Bolas would do-
'Im going to combine the 3 most agonizing things, Discard, Land Destruction and Mill, and then I'm going to punish your for letting me do it. If you try to stop me, you will feel my Force of Will. Aren't I just the most loveable *** you've ever met? What's that, you have 5 life left? Cruel Ultimatum. Have a wonderful time in...oh wherever dead people go. Ive never been there, because Ive never died.'
And THAT'S why Grixis is the most powerful Shard of Colors. Because it can pull every *** trick in the book- Countering, Discard, Land Destruction, Mill....gaaaahhh!!!
It's alright, but even with added damage 4 mana for LD has almost always been too expensive without some actual card advantage attached. Stone Rain is still far, far superior.

One of the only cards against which Mudhole is any use whatsoever.
