Compare to the black Trigon, this one creates 1/1 with infect, which potentially the same effect as the black one in combat. Green one is more to my liking.

In my opinion, the best Trigon. At worst it can make chump blockers that make your opponents creatures smaller. At best, it generates multiple 1/1s that can get past blockers ( as.suming that you have bigger infects out, such as Cystbearer or Putrefax) to dish out multiple poison counters

"This trigon is well costed"? You noticed it's six!!! mana for the first 1/1 dork? The second one will be merely two mana (hurray), and from then on it's two generic and two green mana to create one dork every two turns.

Other cards end the game for six mana. This one gives you a lousy 1/1 dude.

If you check the wikipedia for "unplayable junk" you will find this cards name there.

At least they got infect...oh wait. It's still on the crappy side of the set.

Seems pretty horrible, but better with Contagion Clasp around.

Okay, that is still pretty bad, but maybe they will print a Training Grounds for artifacts at some point. Yeah, right.

....or, you could play this and Clasp and Everflowing Chalice, but by that time you will probably be dead. Onto the crazy Cloudpost combo...

Somehow, people don't think this is any good. Pop in a chump blocker, shrink enemy creature, proliferate, repeat. Much mayhem will be caused.

I like this Trigon. And also I worked out a nice combo for it...but please forgive me if I am wrong but.
Req: Trigon, Liquimetal Coating, and Throne Of Geth
Trigon comes into play with 3 charge counters.
Pay 2 Mana to produce token.
Tap Liquimetal Coating make the token an artifact.
Sacrifice the (now artifact) Token to proliferate.
Add a charge counter to Trigon.
Add counters as you wish.

Pretty good in a draft.

Hmmn.. Pretty useless... Only way I kind see it being useful is if you run a few Doubling Seasons and proliferates...

I have had fun with this in draft, but if you are drafting infect Trigon of Rage is the way to go, even if you can;t recharge it. a 1/1 infect vs a +3/+0 on an unblocked attacker.... red card wins.

There might be a way to break it, but the amount of time and mana it takes just to get a couple of 1/1s out makes this card unremarkable in itself. Perhaps the bugs could have had flying or something... Or maybe there ought to have been a Phyrexian equivalent to Ant Queen.

EDIT: Called it! Phyrexian Swarmlord

This + Plaguemaw Beast = Each turn proliferate for 2. Nice if you ask me.

Has anyone else noticed the similarity to Serpent Generator from Legends? Anyway, this is a pretty mediocre card. 2/5.

Make a deck featuring at least 3 of these, 2 Parallel Lives, 4 Phyrexian Swarmlords, an Overwhelming Stampede, and a bunch of token boosting stuff and you've got yourself a mean Phyrexia deck. If the opponent uses prevention spells, just attack next turn with even more insects! You may want to add Vorniclex to the deck to mana-ramp, and Omen Machine is evil.

This is the best if you've got a slow infect deck, but I have been running it with lots of cheap infectors like Glistener Elf allowing you to be able to spend the mana on something like this to buy you time until you can afford the bigger stuff in maybe turn 4 or 5. And it's great if you just need something for metalcraft.

Why the 3 star rating?

6 mana to get a 1/1 infect? Absolute garbage in constructed. In limited where everyone is playing with absolute garbage, sure this can give you some creatures.
