@BurningDragon There's Magus of the Coffers... but why do you need late game mono black mana acceleration?

This card swings for bundles unchecked. And it's not legendary either, so two is better than one.

Dang it to heck. I despise black, but it always gets the best art. This picture is amazing. REVERSE RACISM!

Great card, but unplayable with vampires, which want to win by turn six. Sets you up for a giant Consume Spirit on turn seven though.

This puts a big dumb smile on my face.

And I have a friend who fits the flavor text to a T.

I love this card. I can't wait to get one to put in my vampire deck. It's the only late game mono black mana booster that I know of.

@demonixx: I play casually with my friends. This is a bomb for consume spirit or any of the new Eldrazi. Those are what I was considering for mana acceleration. Also, two dark rituals on turn two to bring this out and then every turn after that you could probably get anything out that you wanted to.

This is crazy good. If you had 6 swamps when you cast it, it could be 16/16 or 18/18 the next turn.

A great card for decks using Dark Rituals. Possible 1st turn creature if you're palying casual with some Lotus Petal or Archaeological Dig or she could be a 4/4 on turn four.

I pulled one from a pack but i have no plans of getting another piece. Very useful on Eldrazi creatures though.

I find that this card is awsome to have in a late game situation if you have no more vamps to play and a lot of mana just sitting there... For instance, I played my vamps against an eldrazi deck and it was pretty even until she hit the table... idk bout you guys, but she doesnt slow my vamps down at all XD

Badass vamp. When i first played this card i didn't bat an eye towards mana ramp. then i got out a Ulamog, the inifinite gyre and destroyed a Jace, the Mind Sculptor using her. needless to say that was satisfying.

not mention you can boost her to f'ing huge numbers.

Whoever said this cant work with Vamp's. If you haven't won by six and you get this out, I think this would help.

This is probably my favorite not used card right now.

Plop this chick down in a mono-black deck and suddenly your 6 mana can pump out near every eldrazi.

I opened this at the launch party and was hoping to pump out huge eldrazi with it, but I only got one eldrazi lol

This card is hard for me to explain I can't put into words what it does and doesn't do for me

This + 7 swamps + Exanguinate= All opponents lose 12 life and you gain 12 life x number of opponents. Have this in my vampire deck and let me tell you...the turn after i get it out, my opponents start dying FAST. I once got out a Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet, Blade of the Bloodchief equiped on Kalitas, 4 Pulse Trackers, 3 Vampire Nighthawks, and hit with Exanguinate for 6 (giving me 18 life since we were doing a 4 player free for all) all on the same turn because of this nasty mythic rare.

Why is she clothed only in shadows? Seriously, she lives in a swamp you'd think she's a bit cold like that.

I love how much mana production she has for monoblack. I threw in my Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre just for kicks and it actually worked very nicely. I wish I could vote her higher than a 5!

This card rocks.
Turn 2, drop 2 Dark Rituals, play this, and the game is all but over.
Plus, the more of these you have in play, the more mana you produce. If you can manage to pull 4, you're getting 5 black mana for every swamp you tap. That's pretty ridiculous.
And I believe someone asked, "Why do you need late game mono-black mana acceleration?"
The answer to that question is simple... Consume Spirit!
(Maybe even Plague Wind)

For EDH or casual insanity, try casting a Rite of Replication on this. Each of your swamps produces six mana. I'll leave the rest to you.

This is an amazing card. It was the first mythic rare I ever pulled in a pack, and I've won quite a bit of games with it in Standard, not to mention tons in casual. Great to play with more than 6 mana, becuase if it's getting target with a burn spell, tap mana plus the extra and make it tough enough to live.

My most fearsome deck runs two of these and two Ob Nixilis

Origionally, I was sad because black mana ramp is swamp only so how could i ramp without green? Then I saw Valakut Ramp, and saw people using just a few forests to grab a million mountains! It inspired me to do the same with swamps.

Cultivate, Khalni Heart, Harrow and Rampant Growth is all you need to be epic, and if Ob dosn't kill first, the Nirkana Revanent will let me Exanguinate or Consume Spirit for a bazillion. Of course, Diabolic Tutor and Phyrexian Arena help me get these guys without needing 4 copies.

This verson is near creatureless, but it works well as long as i'm not facing agro, which can still be beat if I hit a Black Sun's Zenith in the 2-3 turn. And of course canopy cover is a must

You could even power this thing out on first turn with a couple of Dark Rituals, a swamp and some sort of "free" mana like Lotus Petal. Devastating.

@BloodJunkie: Sounds fun, but probably a very bad play against even remotely competitive decks. When you play against a deck beyond a certain power level you have to assume that it has cheap removal or bounce available and in those cases the person one-for-two or one-for-three'd you.

Incidentally, this is why I always think Dark Ritual needs to be reprinted--many people just play it wrong and self-pwn.

Why do you need late-game monoblack mana acceleration?

Look at its ability.

I never actually thought of Revenants as vampires. I would consider them close to a zombie. But then again the folklore behind them does have a few similarities to vampires. But so does a lot of other creatures of the night. I've also heard fantasies using them as a reanimated hero, back from the dead to fulfill a task they couldn't finish in life(The crow any one?). Either way, this is a lovely card and I'm always happy to play something so flavorful.

Sooo Mythic! It has all the features:
Obscenely powerful in limited.
Flashy effect that begs to be abused.
Evocative art and flavor.

Amazingly potent; while it does cost 6 initially, depending on the style of deck it can certainly reward you greatly. Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth loves this card, even in monoblack (where you're likely running 2-4 Cabal Coffers if you have them available, and possibly some other awesome utility lands like Volrath's Stronghold).

Personally, this is one of the cornerstones of my black 'super-ramp' deck. 4 Ex-Maps to try and set up 1+ Coffers alongside Urborg, 3 Revenants to supercharge the mana once I hit 6 (turn 4 if I'm able to get out 2 Coffers and an Urborg in my first 4 turns), and then finishing with either a one-shot Consume Spirit (love it in this deck as it double as spot removal and life sustenance), or good old Emrakul.

And even without looking at any synergy she has with the rest of a potential deck, if you have 6 swamps and cast her, she can swing for 16 off her own back next turn. There was no way they could give her evasion with that kind of power.

everyone, just plain admit it:

This should be a Mythic based on the amount of skin alone. :P :D :P :D

EDIT: so, it took me almost a year...did anyone else see the hedrons in the background? o.o
that's like, an Easter Egg of Rize. lol. 'Nirkana Revenant has Hedrons in the art.'

Obviously playing this on turn 2 would be great. There are tons and tons of 6 CMC cards that would be great to play on turn 2.

Anytime someone finds themselves starting a comment with "Play 2 dark rituals..." they should just stop typing.

Cool card, but totally classed by the new crypt ghast. Exchange the shade ability for acceleration two turns earlier, when it will make much more of a difference. Lack of evasion really hurts here too.
