This could win games in Limited. Definitely a reasonable pick at worst if you're in red.

Might be a good pick in limited if you want to run heavy on the land and land enchants.

Really a limited bomb that can give you a ton of reach if you're playing two color red.

An unlikely combo, but this + Rumbling Aftershocks is REALLY going to hurt someone.

I like this guy, although for the amount of mana you're dropping he is clearly a late game threat. I'm sure as a top-deck though, he is probably a life saver.

I actually kicked this 7 times with rumbling aftershocks for the win at pre-release. my oppenent went to 11 and i was like, "read the card again. Twice the number."

I use him in a ramp valakut deck with a ton of red mana in it . A kicked everflowing chalice and rumbling afterschocks is enough to pound a opponents face for 16 damage sometimes and one time ever for 20
Other times its good enough to deal a killing blow late game

I've already mentioned how well this guy works in my Mana-Saturated burn deck when you pair it with Rumbling Aftershocks and back it with a Fireball or something of that nature.

When Koth comes out in Scars of Mirrodin this is going to be so insane on turn 5.

I was in awe when my buddy kicked this 2 times out of the blue and ended our game :(

Also, I noticed that the text says "deals damage" but it didn't say how much damage in words like n damage or damage equal it's power.

Like it only says damage :O

also, the damage effect goes on the stack after he hit the field so you can giant growth him as the damage effect hit the stack. so 1 red for 7 damage :)

@iSlapTrees: Do you have any idea what you're talking about? Giant Growth in no way influences his ability.

So I run a combo deck that centers around eventually casting a Reverberate, targeting Geosurge, and paying 1 extra to play this, kick it 10 times, and end the game. It's... actually fairly consistent.

If somehow you have them out at the same time, Djinn Iluminatus + Seething Song + this. Yeah, just do infinite (as needed) damage to target player.

@Bumwright: Unfortunately, Seething Song cannot go infinite with Djinn Illuminatus---for a card to be replicated, the cost needs to be paid at the time of casting. You only get the mana after the Seething Song resolves, which is past the time it can be replicated.

@MattLynn: Doesn't work that way, unfortunately---the mana will empty out of your mana pool after your upkeep. For you to be able to do that, you need to store the mana somehow, such as Upwelling.

Anyway, this combos well with Rakdos, Lord of Riots. Burning the opponent earlier on can reduce the colorless cost so you can instead spend the mana on kicking this. Then after the huge amounts of burn, you can free-drop Eldrazi.

T4 - Koth of the Hammer
T5 - -2 ability, this guy drops and deals 10 damage to a player.

So you just urza's raged a player and got a 4/3 out of it. Seems like a good deal to me. It also scales REALLY well if you have Koth.

Without, you'll need some other trickery; like green ramp filtered through elementals. Soulbright Flamekin can make this guy deal 6 on T6 with no help. Geosurge can allow this guy to pop out T4 and deal 4. Many playable options next to the more ridiciulous ones.

Could work as a budget option in GreenRed ramp.
