Amazing. It's like Healing Salve. But good.

I think this one will be one of the best of the new cards from the M10 set. I would go far as to say that every mono-white deck should have 4 of these between the sideboard and maindeck.

Much more useful than Carom, not that anyone plays that card.

White is definitely becoming a lot stronger than it was several years ago. Thats not to say it was never good; white has always been a great color. But ever since Oblivion Ring and Path to Exile and Ajani Goldmane, white has become more lethal to play against (especially since it already had access to Wrath of God and tokens). With the addition of this instant, white is going to be even more popular then it was before (then again Wrath did become illegal in standard, but white still has a lot of potential).

This card is rather deadly, your opponent can think he's trading off and getting a hit in, when you play this, it becomes a 2 for 1, It's amazing

Because apparently white needs more devastating one-mana spells at uncommon. GOD I hate this set.

Has anyone else noticed that this card is 2/3 of Lightning Helix, for 1/2 the price? That makes this card Good Value (tm).
Lightning Helix gains you 3 life and deals 3 damage to one target at instant speed for WR.
By redirecting damage, Harm's Way effectively gains you 2 life and deals 2 damage to one target at instant speed for W.

i would go as far to say this card is even better than that @jairdudes

its because you can save one of your creatures AND destroy one of your opponent at the same time for 1 mana. One of the most cost-effectiv cards i've ever seen.

WHY must white be so powerful?
Of course, everyone who owns a white deck is like "WOOHOO."
This makes me want to cry.
I'm going to go look for some green or black cancel spells now. >.<

according to the FAQ on this card, you can save Multiple creatures w/ it which makes it a LOT more powerful than I initially thought.

* If the chosen source would simultaneously deal damage to multiple permanents you control (like Pyroclasm could) or to you and at least one permanent you control (like Earthquake could), Harm's Way will redirect just 2 of that damage. It won't redirect the next 2 damage that would be dealt to each recipient. You choose which 2 damage is redirected. If you like, you can choose to redirect 1 damage that would be dealt by the chosen source to each of two different recipients.

This card is an Agony Warp for 1 mana. 1 less damage, 1 less different coloured mana. That's balanced, right?

To anyone complaining about the power level of M10: I think they're just taking the core set closer to most expansion sets in power. And that was needed. Did anyone, ever buy the earlier core sets? This is a wonderful card, but I don't think it's too powerful. Black and red get serious boosts from M10 too, and blue is the strongest colour in standard, so it's no wonder it gets nerfed.

The perfect counterpart to path to exile. While path is great for those ridiculous threats cou couldn't even hope to deal with, harm's way allows you to conserve your paths in case of those threats. this card allows your 2/3 armorsmith to wipe their 4/4 broodmate and escpae unscathed. It also allows you to redirect an unblocked attacker's damage, or the damage of one of their blockers, and have it hit a combo creature, or one of those versatile, low toughness creatures that your opponent does not attack with and will not block with. Little did they know, their own creature was about to destroy it. 4.5/5

-one thing I did not know before... There are going to be about 750-800 cards in standard without lorwyn etc. A full 1/3 of which is creatures with toughness of 2 or less. That means that harm's way prevents 2 damage from killing a creature of yours, or damaging you, and can then either help damage the opponent, or act as a removal spell for more than half (about 450 creatures) of the creatures in standard. very useful.

Harms Way Is Absoloutley Killer, Really Its Pretty Much A White Burn Spell Thats Ridiculously Mana Efficient And Really Strong. One Of My Favorites From M10 No Doubt

So can this spell be used on creatures that have protection from white to redirect their own damage back on them?

It would have been awesome if you could redirect damage done to the enemy as well. For instance, you play against an Elf deck and he drops an Oracle of Mul Daya on the fourth turn. Your next turn you attack with Elite Vanguard and he blocks with Nissa's Chosen. You use Harm's Way to redirect the damage from N'sC to OoMD, destroying it. You just swapped a Vanguard for an OoMD ({W}{W} for {G}{3} including the Harm's Way cost). Sure you just traded two cards for one, but it's worth it. Take that OoMD...Maybe one day WOTC will make a rare version that can do this, or maybe a non-rare that can only redirect damage done to opponents?

@irtureVsVice, you could send 2 from NC to the oracle, and it would be 2 for 2, (vanguard and harm's way for the 2 elfs)

but yeah, ouch, white turbo fogs may have a good match up with burns only thanks to this and safe passage and shieldmate's blessing

Fantastic card. Just what we needed when Lightning bolt got reprinted.

does the redirected damage still have the properties of the source?
would the damage still have wither/deathtouch/lifelink or would it be normal damage?
also would it still count as combat damage if it was redirected from an attacking creature?
DServ
☆☆☆☆☆ (0.0/5.0)
@ meliagaunt.

Yes, the damage still has the properties, because it's from the source of the card, and it's just being redirected.

Example: If you were to Harm's Way a Giant Scorpion that blocked a 1/1 creature, and made it hit itself, the Giant Scorpion would still die because of the Death Touch ability. If you were to Harm's Way a Vampire Nighthawk, the controller of the Nighthawk would still gain the 2 life.

This card is much better than it appears to be initially. Not only can it redirect burn damage, but it makes for a hell of a combat trick. Wade in there with your 3/3 against his 4/3, kill his annoying 1/1 AND the 4/3, and keep your guy alive in the process.

Nice little card for the CC.

My evaluation of this card just went up as it won me both games in my draft finals tonight. First time, I redirected 2 damage from his Pyroclasm away from my Razorfoot Griffin onto his Stampeding Rhino, killing it. My griff was the only survivon and I rode it to victory. Second time was when he cast Overrun with two Borderland Rangers and me with only a tapped Illusionary Servant and 9 life. He only had 1 life, so I redirected 2 damage from one of the guys, surviving with 1 and killing him. :D

I love how white seems to have a thing for annihilating the bad guys with space lasers. See Gaze of Justice for another example.

can you use this on a source that is only dealing 1 damage?

Favorite flavor text of all cards. I find it liberal and romantic.

Replaces main deck Swords to Plowshares for my G/W zoo deck. Adding 2 power to any creature, or stinging a player for 2 while saving one of your own... Ludicrous... that rapper probably had some input on this one... 50 cent wasn't involved in the making of this thats for sure...

Orbital lasers are apparently a key part of white's slice of the color pie.

I just played a two-headed giant match and during it I attacked an Ajani Goldmane of one of my opponents.
His teammate then used a Harm's Way to redirect 2 of the damage to one of my teammate's creatures. Was this a valid move?

If my opponent is using a spell or an ability that says destroy yarget creature, would Harm's Way save that creature?
