Act of treason that pumps your oppenets creature very bad unless you are going to win from casting it

Interesting in sealed as it can act as a finisher or In a pinch it can give your own critter +1/+1 and untap it. Not sure it'll see any play in constructed...maybe with sacrifice effects.

Why would I give my opponents creature a +1/+1 counter? Why not just play Act of Treason? Same affect and same cast with out the counter.

Great in Emperor, where you can just shunt the creature to one of your partners to keep it. And definitely a Act of Treason 4-8 in a deck that can perform some similar trick to keep the creature indefinitely.

Love this card combined with Ooze Garden. It's always funny to see the look your opponent gives you when you take their creature then turn it into an ooze. Priceless.

Brion Stoutarm+ This= One of the most annoying combos ever!

For example:
1. Use mark of Munity on enemy Enormous Baloth and use it to attack your opponent= 8 dmg
2. Sac it= Another 8 damage and gain 8 lives xD

This is probably the only case where this card is better than Act of Treason since you'll deal 1 more dmg :P

@ ajpinton

if you have 5 mana use it with Jinxed Idol

I just love the look on an opponents face when they think they'll swing later with their buffed creature only to see you drop the idol and sac their creature

If you got the mana, Great for giving your own creatures haste as well

I would say this should only be used if its going to win you the game or if you plan to sac the creature or otherwise combo with it, cause there going to get to use that buff a lot longer than you are.

"Strictly better than Act of Treason"

Yet another misuse of the term "strictly better". I should keep a running tally of these mistakes.

I enjoy using this with Sarkhan the Mad, as they don't get their creature back and you get to keep a 5/5 dragon token. The extra +1/+1 counter is a little plus.

The main reason this is better than Act of Treason is that any time you cast either spell you should be winning on that attack phase. The extra +1/+1 makes that more likely to happen.

After playing this, take that creature on a longer-term basis with Cytoplast Manipulator. Mark of Mutiny lets you try it before you buy it!

Strictly better than Act of Treason? Read it carefully; it doesn't gain +1/+1 until the end of the turn, it gets a +1/+1 counter. When it returns to it's original owner, that +1/+1 counter stays there. This could be better if you can Fling it or otherwise sac it after swinging, but if not, you may very well just give your opponent even more firepower.
