I can see that card being used in some kind of rapid card draw deck...

At the pre-release my opponent played this guy only to draw him again the very next turn. That was not fun but very funny. Best part was my opponent was new to the game and didn't realize how amazingly unlikely that was.

These 2 cards and 4 blitz hellions have won me a few games.

Certainly a 5/5 for fun, but a bit expensive for what is basically a ball lightning that you will most likely not see again in any serious game (this making the 7 toughness rather useless unless you get lucky and for avoiding removal in red), so paying 2 more mana for one more damage is pretty meh. Still, I love the concept and design.

Real Blitz... i had an opponent who uses naya deck summoned an Enlisted Wurm and cascaded into Blitz Hellion... good thing i had an Executioner's Capsule in the battlefield and Terminate with my hand... im doomed if had none...

This would work great with cascade but the only two cards that can flip into it are Enlisted Wurm and Enigma Sphinx. Even then chances are you will have alot of other spells you'll hit before this one. Ball Lightning seems more effecient... Maybe play both in the same deck?

i am currently working on a deck based around casting Leveler, using Tel-Jilad Stylus on itself or having out an Obstinate Familiar so i don't deck myself next turn, then dropping a Blitz Hellion from my hand and replaying it every turn.

thank you wizards for this card!

I tossed this into my red/green primal forcemage deck. Makes it a 10/10 trample for 5. If I have enough mana, I just cast a horned kavu and bounce it back to my hand to bring it out the next turn.

I love and hate cards like this all at the same time.. it's fantastic for where ancients tread, but then again I have to spend mana on this every turn to put it back into play instead of playing something else. Can't have it both ways I suppose, next best thing is ball lightning.

Run with ponder; that way if its in the top three cards of your library, you can get it back the next turn!

Somewhat combos with Cream of the Crop. Sort of. Kinda.

I enjoy playing this card for 5 cmc, then sacrificing it to Ooze Garden for a big 7/7 ooze token. Whaddya think?

It's a Ball Lightning resistant to nukes ( you cant throw enought spells to kill it). I just wonder if you have to put it back in your library even if it dead?

I use it as a bomb for Warp World. Haste and trample is great to flip into, and if I'm not casting warp again this turn (unlikely), I most likely will be next turn.

@Muffin_Minister: But aren't you pretty much screwed if your opponent just terminates the hellion? You know it doesn't go back to your library if it's in the graveyard at end of turn, right?

So...

With Pandemonium in play: Blitz Hellion (7 dmg), Attack (7 dmg) and Fling (7 dmg) for 21.

A very fun card. A quick 7 damage. I've won a fair share of games when my opponent has either had to waste a spell on this then be unable to answer a better spell, or they thought of stopping the other spell and had this to reckon with. And if they don't waste a spell, they either take a lot of damage and/or lost a creature(s). Either way, you win, not to mention they have the dread of not knowing when it would pop up again! That fear can make them be a bit more conservative, giving you a chance for more aggression. I think it's fun. Imagine it with Mighty Emergence!

I love this card so much. I know it's not that good, but because of what it represents to me.

It symbolizes RedGreen's true power manifest, but you only get to see it for a little bit before it goes underground again.

this card is amazing in a {G}{R} deck. If you're running 2 or 3 it can keep popping up, especially if you you have a ton of mana accel. Also, in a {G}{R} deck this is way better than Ball Lightning because it only requires a commitment of one mana of each color.

I like the flavor text. Who wants to celebrate the Fall of Ilson Gate with me?

It's not Ball Lightning, but this one gets past 1/1 first-strikers and lightning bolt, can be reasonably played in a deck that isn't mono-red, and can recur.
Easier cost to pay in multicolor, and your chances of drawing one tend to only increase as the game goes on.

Ball Lightning is more efficient, certainly, but not everyone can be running Ball Lightning, and sometimes you just like your guys huge.

@ DacenOctavio: is that some kind of euphenism?!? O.o

Dropping this hellion always made my matches a wee bit more fun. Though it's unlikely you'll see the same copy twice in one match, I suppose you could always Diabolic Tutor him after he bounces back into your deck. All in all, a great card that has won me its fair share of matches.

This card combines well with Boartusk Liege. Yesterday I had two Boartusk Liege's in play and had two Blitz Hellion's in my hand. When I played the Blitz Hellion's they were 11/11.

Fun on a bun with Green Sun's Zenith: Run four of each for eight cards that each pull a 7/7 trampling hasty beatstick out immediately, then disappear back into your library for redrawing!

I wonder if anyone has ever Jace, the Mind Sculptor'd themselves with the last ability with this in your hand

Stops you from decking yourself and almost insure's that you have 7 trampling damage coming ever turn.
Not the most efficient probly but would definitly get style points

There is only one way to play this:
Turn 1: Mountain, Orcish Lumberjack
Turn 2: Forest, BLITZ!!

See if a player can recover from that.

Primal Surge + Panoptic Mirror?

You know, because primal surge shouldn't be causing auto wins or anything.
