Horrible version of Backlash. The main point of tapping the creature is to keep it from attacking, which makes absolutely no sense at sorcery speed. Backlash is an ok card, but this one just plain useless and a waste of a card slot.

You can use it to stop them from defending, but it's still far worse than Backlash. Really not much of a reason to put it in a deck.

You guys all have no idea what you're talking about! When you're severely losing in a game, this is the kind of card that saves you! All you need are two measily goblins, and you can tap two of your opponent's biggest creatures for massive damage! I used this card for 10 damage, but I'm sure you could get higher. Just think about this with Wound Reflection!

I guess the conspire could come in handy sometimes, but Backlash is still better.

Just a bit costly. I'd rather use it very specifically like throwing it in from sideboard purposely against a massive creature, or a cre with lots of counters on it that opponent uses for spells and stuff rather than attacker/blocker etc.
of course you have to be able to target that creature...

Why this and Backlash have different oracle wording?
Yea it's pretty crappy but if you can't get your hands on Backlash, or you are playing mono black or red you could try it out. I think it's not that bad, there are worse cards than this.

I have lost more games to this at a casual table than one would fathom.
This is a better card than people are giving it credit for, one of my fondest memories is tied to this card. My friend opened an M10 booster and was all excited because he got an ajani goldmane, when we were playing he got it out and I purposely let him get to ajani's ultimate, then the turn after he put the avatar token out I played traitor's roar on it.
Laughed for about 5 solid minutes after my friend finished shuffling his cards back in to his deck.
Also it's a pretty cool game ender, for me anyway. I hold on to it til I'm sure I can get lethal damage through if a creature doesn't block, then traitor's roar my opponent's biggest dude & attack with everything.

This is an underestimated card. It can win lost games due to being unexpected. Recently in a game I was losing my opponent tapped out to bring Ulamog's Crusher on the board, and he had 8 life total. It looked hopeless but then on my turn I played this and the Crusher proved to be my opponent's undoing. Very amusing game.

this card would be a pretty good defence against an infect deck, just imagine the possibility of infecting your opponent to death with it, with their own creatures

right because making them take a hit from their Blightsteel colossus is a total waste of time when you're running in Red black which has oh so many ways of getting around indestructability, oh, wait, no they don't

=( It saddens me that some people don't get how hilarious this card is... Picture (if you will) you are playing one of the rudest players you have ever met. Teasing, sarcastic, and everything you do he responds with..."OH IS THAT ALL YOU ARE GONNA DO?" And hes wearing a fox tail and riddick goggles... and him showing off to everyone saying how NO ONE HAS EVER BEAT HIS DECK...EVER!!!!
This made me really curious to see what it was all about...i just had my jund sarkhan deck...
Some turns in the game he shape anew d twice on both his everflowing chalice s to 2 blightsteel colossus...grinning and tapped out he passed the turn to me... " I cast Traitor's Roar conspired, i tap both your blightsteels and you take 22 poison counters, and that's all im gonna do."
He got all winy then just pulled out some blue white jace deck and went to town on sarkhan =( but still i really like this card

My friends know me all too well. They knew something was amiss when I attached My Grafted Exoskeleton to my opponent's boosted 12/17 Wall of Reverence. I'm so mean >D
That said, except for conspire, (which I LOVE, because I always seem to have tons of 2/2 lizard tokens hangin around) Backlash is indeed a much more cost effective card in nearly all other situations. By the way, Backlash is on ebay for very cheap, guys, so stop whining about how hard it is to find. I just bought a four-set for $3.

@majinara
The point of THIS card isn't to tap to prevent an attack, but to have someones over-sized creature deal huge amounts of damage to them, which it does very well. It's not quite as good as Backlash, but its still pretty good in the correct situation.

Slightly overcosted, but the conspire cost more than makes up for it. If you're playing against a green deck, this will SLAUGHTER it, if played late game. Ironically, this is one of the better late game Red cards. Just make sure you can afford to play this, or else you could end up losing. Since its also black, it can go in either or.

@Banjo253 I find it hilarious that you have to deal with exactly the same kind of tools in your playgroup that I do. You're right, cards like this are super fun and hilarious, and great in casual multiplayer

I've had a 24/24 Deathbringer Thoctar, a 52/52 Apocalypse Hydra, and a 22/22 Allosaurus Rider all betray me because of this.
It's a crazy card in the right situation. Backlash is better, but it's harder to come by as it's reprinted in an older set, at a higher rarity.
