Such a great creature, he is almost completely unremovable.

Blurred Mongoose, the buffed up beast version. Nice.

I dare anyone to find an uglier beast.

Great card, though. For casual.

"YOU ARE NOT DENYING ME THIS CREATURE".

Half the people you will face will either try to counter your spells, want to make you discard, or use killing spells. And as long as that killing spell guy is a doom blader and not a damnationer, this card is pure win

Hate for black and blue much? Great card, troll shroud would have made it epic.

this is what I imagine is the dialogue while playing this.

"nice try control deck, but you won't stop this guy!"

"wrath of god, leaving counter mana open for your next turn....."

"crap...."

Quagnoth: Saying "F*CK YOU" to that Blue, Black, or Red player across from you since 2007.

There is pretty much no way this guy isn't getting into play if you have the mana to pay for him.

When you absolutely, positively, HAVE to have a creature....

Cool idea, but it's still overly expensive; too bad it didn't go straight into play from being discarded, like Dodecapod or Obstinate Baloth. Having a hard-to-counter / remove creature is no longer that appealing when it can simply can be raced. By the time six-mana cards are being played, a 4/5 shroud is not looking terribly threatening.

@Littlebeast

I actually said that when someone tried to make me discard this. XD wound up losing, but it was funny netherless.

I love this guy, pretty much because of this quote here: "YOU ARE NOT DENYING ME THIS CREATURE". This guy is quite literally impossible to stop from getting on the field. I love him. 5/5

If I understand Split Second correctly, it can still be countered by triggered abilities like Erayo's Essence. Though that can be evaded rather easily, just throw away a spell beforehand.

Also, unmorphing Voidmage Apprentice counters it.

All he needs is indestructibility and evasion and he's a true Ninja.

C'mon, people, doesn't anyone remember Scragnoth? This is his distant relative, who has mastered counter-intelligence so much that you can't even get him out of the mind of his summoner.

While I love this guy, he's unfortunately one of the Future Sight cards that provided an image of what the future was gonna look like.

Now, with Invisible Stalker, Geist of Saint Traft, and Sigarda, Host of Herons, all protected from counterspells by Cavern of Souls, the lack of interaction for one card has become the reality for the game as a whole. :-(

Card is worth the six mana. This belongs in any deck that can mana ramp well.

This really needed Flash. Other than that, it's cool :)

By itself, it's a nice beater that resist to many removals, maybe more removals than Thrun, the Last Troll.

However, I think this card should have an updated version that cost less, but more color-agressive (to prevent splashing a color only for this beater). Maybe 2GGG or even GGGG (for one G, you have a leatherback baloth with 3 awesomes abilities!).

I wish they would go back to printing creatures with Shroud; it was rather balanced for a mechanic. This whole Hexproof business has to stop. Neurok Commando was the last creature Wizards printed before Hexproof became a keyword, and it was pretty balanced. The card won me a lot of games in constructed.

Just discovered this combo while building a green/black deck and posted in the other creatures comments... but Lotleth Troll and this = turn 3 win with infinite/infinite lothleth troll.

@Danothan:

Sorry, but that doesn't work. The spell or ability ability that causes you to discard Quagnoth has to be controlled by an opponent, otherwise it doesn't return to your hand. Read the card.

Throw it in a Doran EDH with Tireless Tribe

lotleth troll, tireless tribe.... how hard is it to RTFC?! The discard has to be forced by your opponent. I know the font is kind of small, but c'mon here people!!!!

EDIT: This got me thinking; what about Mindslaver. If in a multiplayer game, I took control of your turn with Mindslaver, and made you discard this to Tireless Tribe, then used it to attack a common enemy, would it then count?

Quagnoth rhymes with Yawgmoth.
