5 mana is simply too much for a creature with such limited utility.

A fat@ss Samite Healer for four more that can untap at the cost of -1/-1 counters. Yeah, I'll p@ss.

I found this to be a powerful card in limited. He's capable of vomiting out damage prevention like nobody's business.

Making him indestructible would allow him to stack on as many counters as you wanted, equaling the effect of "Prevent all damage"

@ SoulShatterer:
Not true. At a certain point, the -1/-1 counters will reduce this creature's toughness to 0, meaning this creature would get sent to the graveyard by default.
@ Treima:
As a kithkin creature, it does have some advantages over Samite Healer. Ballyrush Banneret could reduce this one's cost to {W} if you had 4 of them out. Also, all a -1/-1 counter is is a counter that lowers power and toughness. This creature just needs the same care that a creature with Persist, such as Twilight Shepherd, needs: Mark of Eviction! At the point where he has only 1 toughness due to the 3 counters you put on him, you place the mark on him and he comes back to your hand, and the counters go away. Then, summon him again, use him as a blocker, then abuse his ability again.

He is clearly made for combos. I can't think of a card that he combos with off the of my head, but I know they are out there. Anything that lets him tap to give himself 1+ toughness results in him going infinite.

@ Baconradar Use with Daru Spiritualist and then sac it to Starlit Sanctum to gain an arbitrarily large (read: infinite) amount of life. Oh and you get to prevent all damage that would be dealt to you and creatures you control for one turn. And in addition to that, all your clerics get arbitrarily large toughness until the end of the turn as well.

Funny, at first when i saw the rating i thought "hey what's up with you people, this guy provides some solid defense!" ...until i noticed his cost is not .
The activation cost for the ability is nice for combos indeed, but i'd much rather use Devoted Druid for that.

Otherwise yeah this guy's a lot worse than Master Healer (except being able to split up the prevention Embolden-style).
Ewuip it with Heavy Arbalest as a tf2 reference!
Beecause Medics are never as good without a heavy.
Or just a blatant mistake?
Is there ANY other card in the game with such wimpy abilities that costs 5 CMC for a 0/4?
