it is stupid to think that anything with 'Demon" as a creature type should be any other creature type.

especially vampire.

OMFG A USABLE LEGENDS CARD?!?!?!?

........

Oh, wait. No, it's just Demon's Horn with swampwalking legs. At least he's 5/5 for 5, that makes him one of the best Legends cards.

Without it being triple colored mana, it would be very good. Swampwalking 5/5 for 5 mana with an additional good effect.

@metalviolence

'Demon Advisor' is a perfectly valid creature combination (think Demonic Attorney, Demonic Tutor, and other cards with names that suggest a Demon serving as an Advisor of some sort - yea, I do know the 2 cards I named and most other cards with this sort of name arn't creature cards). 'Demon Spirit', I think turned up in Kamigawa, 'Demon Minion' is possible, 'Demon Dragon' is as valid as 'Dragon Spirit', 'Demon Assassin' has flavor, 'Demon Spellshaper' is a likely combination, 'Demon Hound' and 'Demon Cat' again are as valid as 'Cat Spirit' and 'Elemental Hound', and since we are bringing up anamalistic Demons, 'Demon Horse', 'Demon Wolf', 'Demon Beast', 'Demon Bat' ("like a bat out of hell"), 'Demon Bird', 'Demon Bear', 'Demon Spider', 'Demon Snake', 'Demon Insect', 'Demon Insect Swarm', whatever other Demon animals make sense. And Magic has one 'Demon Child'.

A 5/5 for five with no drawbacks. One of the best legends from Legends indeed. I still play this card until now with the help of some new cards from the Alara block. One of my favorite legends.

One of the best legend in Legends along with Gwendlyn Di Corci although she was not reprinted at all. They come together in one deck.

he's a pretty decent EDH general, run tomb of yawgmoth to guarantee hits and run mostly Black or Black or Red / Blue or Black hybrid spells for constant life gain

The fun thing to note about Sol'Kanar is that he does look antiquated by modern design standards, but not in the way you'd first expect. He actually has a good ratio of power and abilities to his mana cost--an area where most every other creature from Legends is deficient. The attributes of his card that date him are actually the colors; I'd guess that a swamp king--if printed today--would be mono-black. It worked for the progeny of Dakkon Blackblade.

@ divine_exodus

Just run Darksteel Ingot... Unless it makes sense not to, like in EDH.

So it's a Demon's Horn (cost {2}) stapled to a 5/5 swampwalking body for {U}{R}{B}.

Relatively solid with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth I suppose, but would be better if it were mono-black =( Reanimator target maybe? You can Reanimate it for a "mere" 5 life.

I JUST Played a commander game with this as my opponents general, and then RANDOM CARD into this, the exact same version too. What are the odds?

Anyways, I had Lorthos, the Tidemaker as my general. And nobody else was playing black so this guy didnt work out too well for him ^_^

I would much rather have protection then swampwalk/lifegain for a color hate general.
