Love this guy. A little expensive, sure - but an original Legend with great art and a cool ability. Respect.

The color choices for this Legend are interesting. Art is mostly black, card is mainly blue with splashes of white and black, flavor text fits a red/white/blue color mix, and his ability belongs to green.

Good EDH general i think you have the 2 best colors for board wipe and spot removal. You have draw, tutors, and a solid general that grows as the game goes on. Not bad 4/5.

Relative to the other legendary creatures from Legends, this guy's like Yawgmoth's Will .

I recently revisited my Chronicles collection.
Not long after they appeared, there was an offer called the Multiverse Gif Box, which also contained, among other foreign Magic boosters, a Japanese Chronicles pack. The only Chronicles set that was printed with black borders!
@gasimakos1: They're not really comparable. Like, at all. Aside from both being Legends, and thus potential EDH Generals, they fulfill entirely different roles. Dakkon is simply a big, bad, beatstick while Gwendlyn is more akin to a utility creature on steroids.

I got him in a pack of Chronicles but at the time all I wanted was Craw Giants, and I got 3 of them. I never found any use for him.

I love this card but he doesn't "feel" Esper to me. In his flavor text it mentions Plains, Mountains and waves (Islands).... Shouldn't he be Red, White & Blue? Land counting P/T isn't very White, Blue or Black. But this card is from Legends, so yeah.... they hadn't established what each color's concepts and/or philosophy was back then yet.

Well, looks like the two rares I drew were:
Dakkon Blackblade and Nicol Bolas!!! :D
