I love the art and flavor for this card. It is a cool concept having a weapon that gives you first strike, which is usaly a white mechanic so it fits, but on top of that it channels the dark energy of condemmed souls to give your weapon a twist on an almost firebreathing mechanic. Very cool card flavor wise and actully looks like it could even see some solid play.

These are so fun in a vampire deck. Put one on a Vampire Nighthawk, then laugh as your Nighthawk can deathtouch anything and live, grow beyond Lightning Bolt range, and give you hilarious amounts of life.
Bonus points for playing it with Greater Auramancy to give your Nighthawk shroud as well.

@Silverware: that's the shade mechanic, as in Looming Shade (was the earliest shade i know of.)
Strictly better than Lance! Finally an instance when you can truly use "strictly better".

No this isn't stictly better. Say you're running mono white there you go, it's already equal and not better, but if that creatue and the aura changed hands to someone playing back, they have an advantage to if it was just lance. ;)
See almost nothing is strictly better. :P

Pretty boss enchantment. But unfortunately its a 2 for 1 magnet, so play with care.
May be worth it in {B}{W}. The pump is almost as good as shade pump (depending on multi-color and such, it can be better.) Further, the synergy with itself is excellent.

Remember "strictly better" means that it's better in a vacuum, ignoring special circumstances. You playing this without a source and having your opponent take control of it and use the pump is a very special circumstance.
