Considering you're playing two of the five colors, thsi needs a viable strategy to protect your own creatures.

GAME WINNING CARD!

Even two damage will do enough damage to turn the tables in your favor.

It's just quite expensive

Well yeah, it's a late game spell/finisher

Seething Song is always useful with any red spell with Variable Colorless in its cost.

Play with Safe Passage to protect your creatures. Your opponets will still take the damage and you'll gain life for all the damage that was done to them. Its an amazing card! Hit one of your 5 color creatures and you'll destroy most if not all of your opponests creatures. Best in multiplayer when you can clear the field with this card.

Could combo really well with an Eldrazi Monument. Your creatures still take the damage, so you gain all that life, but they won't die from it.

Light of Sanction. There's a reason why it's in one of Boros's two colors.

Who cares about protecting your creatures? With sanguine bond out, target a multicolor creature and win

Awesome for Commander games. The best part is that it only targets one creature so it's a great way to get around Lightning Greaves or any other shroud effects. Just target another creature that shares a color with your real target.

And why use Light of Sanction when Mark of Asylum is better protection for a cheaper casting cost.

I would so love to use this in a Two-Headed Giants game with my teammate using my Green Token Spam deck.

Don't like the flavor text. In fact, I tend to dislike all of Razia's phrases. Red/White should be Chaotic Good, not Lawful Evil. Save that for white/black.

Regardless, the card's very good. It's unlikely they're playin' the same two colors you are, which would leave you with at least half your creatures left, and you could easily go 3 colors with Dauntless Escort. This would also both make your creatures still take the damage, giving you the life you wouldn't get with Safe Passage, and allow you to use the mana said Safe Passage would otherwise take up.

Use it on a commander and the whole deck dies.

Cast this and use Dauntless Escort's ability. For even more fun and carnage, target Ink-treader Nephilim, since it's all but one color and will make sure the field clears of anything non-black.
You could also use it with Shifting Sky or Painter's Servant to automatically target everything

Technically speaking one can run a Boro's deck without red creatures. White weenies not only have more utilities they also have a lot of pro-red ones, allow you to cast Brightflame without hurting any of your own, even if opponents run white creatures. (that is, of course, if theirs don't have pro-red also)

The initial cost of this spell is hefty though. If your opponent is not running weenies this card would not only be very hard to cast it would also do little good.

Drop it late game with a spitemare or two on the field.

so, it's a Lightning Helix spliced onto a Comet Storm? I can live with that. I can live for a really long time with that.

Like all Radiance cards, the chance for backfire is HIGH. But the nice thing about this card is even if you explode your own stuff, you'll be getting plenty of life as well. So I guess it isn't too bad.

I once gained 80 life off one of these.
What can I say, there were a lot of Soldier tokens in play.

Aside from that, while it's limited to casual, it's pretty epic in it.

This thing is actually pretty scary against things like white-weenie, elves and merfolk (like you could get it off against merfolk, but oh well) if you can cast this with X=3 or more you probably wipe their field and win. Anyone running a Gisela, Blade of Goldnight EDH deck should auto-include this.

It may be expensive, but against the right decks this really can deliver a win immediately. probably a sideboard card, but a very well balanced and designed card. Even getting hit by this I have fun.

This was sick as hell in limited, blow up your side of saproling tokens and gain way too much life...

I always confuse this with the card Balefire. Then I realize there is no card Balefire...

Look how similar the art is for this and the standard FIreball; you can definitely tell it's the same artist! I think that's pretty sweet myself

A decent little card for multiplayer, consider running it in a Boros Artifact deck, so you have no creatures that share a color type :D
