IMHO this card is basically a noob trap. A beginner player who had a moderate understanding of the game would think this card is over powered, not realizing that the ability itself is the draw back. I think the card would be great in multiplayer, though.

Sure, you need six creatures to kill, but it is still fantastic overkill. It could win you the game. I would gladly kill a few of my creatures to kill some of the enemy. I love the black flavor of this.

Just think of it as a semi-Damnation that can spare some of your creatures if you are lucky, but costs 2 more in exchange.

I don't think it's a n00b trap. It is limited in 1v1, but in multiplayer, and moreover in EDH? It's like a one-sided wrath, and in EDH mana matters little. 3.5.

It's a cool thing to know that this card's upside is this card's downside at the same time. I'd have really liked an "up to" in this line, though. But this would it have made about ten times more powerful. And well, it's still nice, as aformentioned especially in a multiplayer-game/elder dragon highlander.

Yea. MUST destroy 6 creatures. Unless it stated, "You may destroy up to six creatures"

Its a very powerful bomb to save up for multiplayer games. This is a game changer when it goes off. Very efficient removal, 6 for 1 is a great deal. With this in hand, just play possum on your opponent(s) until the time is right to take over.

I had Master of Eterium, Darksteel Forge, Mycosynth Lattice and many arcbound creatures to use for fodder for my Etmerium Astrolabe, and my friend only had 3 creatures, but they were all unblockable with Snake Cult Initiation, so I used hex, and I had to target 3 of my creatures, but they were indestructible so it didn't matter :P
With the right cards, like anything that makes a creature indestructible, you can kick some serious butt with Hex.

Beginners usually go and buy tons of stuff that seems powerful, and their decks are over 60 cards and usually get wooped. Noobs panic when you even kill one of their creatures LULZ.

I have a question: Is an indestructible creature an illegal target for that kind of spell? I know it won't kill it, but can you target it to cast the spell of there is only five destructible creatures on the battlefield? Same question goes to cards like Hideous End... could you "try" to kill a Darksteel Colossus to hit your opponent's life?

I think both cases would work - only shroud protects against targeting. And yes, since it doesn't say "If it's destroyed this way..." I guess you'd get life as well.

This is good in token-producing decks. Assuming that the average opponent will have about 2-4 creatures out at any given time, sacrficing two or three of your Saprolings or Eldrazi Spawn to wipe the opponent's side of the board is a deal few would turn down.
All in all, this is an example of great card design. A noob just sees "six creatures", thinks it's awesome and doesn't realize the drawback. An average player sees the drawback and dismisses the card. A smart player sees both the drawback and the potential, and figures out how to avoid the former to get the most of the latter.

It's a black card, that kills six creatures, with no nonblack restriction. It also costs half as much as it would take doom blades/assassinates to kill. Add in the completely badass flavor text... And you get a 5/5.

A lot harder to cast than you'd think. If there aren't six creatures on the board, you can't cast it. If there aren't six enemy creatures, you have to kill some of your own. You don't get a choice; six is six.
Now, when you're playing with more than one opponent... :3

Great card, if a little risky. Your opponent(s) could use something to get rid of their own stuff to make you kill your own guys, which is bad if you don't have some cannon fodder.
