Extra lulz for the clearly Zendikarian setting in the art.
Though I could easily see Phyrexia covering random doodads with some hideous plague.

Great in black decks, obviously.

I have to say I like the flavour text on this version much more than that of the other printings.

What does this card has anything to do with the Phyrexian Invasion vs. Coalition, aside from being black?

@ Tezz: That means that the card was popular, so wizards wanted to print more (to sell more) but didn't want to see it stay in the standard environment like it would if they had printed it in another normal set. Probably a balance issue.

Ahh the bees! Not the bees! :p
Bad jokes aside, this card is very good. Clears the way and helps you race while doing it.

my second favorite removal, my most favorite being Terminate. but at least this is mono black

I don't know about this card. I think I still prefer doom blade. It's not like this card is bad, and I definitely have fun using it. It's just that it doesn't seem worth it to pay an extra {B} for two life. However, it can completely depend on the situation.

Really underrated card. Instant speed life loss is surprisingly uncommon for black. This is a good piece of removal for Bloodchief Ascension decks, sneaking in some quest counters during opponents' turns.

Doom Blade leaves you with more options and can be played sooner.
