this card is amazing with a ninja tribal deck. use a cheap 0 or 1 drop creature on turn 1 and keep bouncing it for ninjas. your oponent can't block anything cause it all comes into play tapped.

Makes a nice winning combo along with Stasis and Chronatog.
And it does a great job with Amulet of Vigor as well.

I prefer Kismet, for one more mana, this effect doesn't affect you.

Could you play this with Amulet of Vigor and cause a paradox, therefore winning the game?

Amulet of Vigor and this is a great combo.

The amulet would win out over the orb, so basically you used two cards to achieve Kismet.

On another note, the art for this card is mad cool.

@Neosin: No. Amulet is worded so that things that come in to play tapped are then untapped. Having both causes your permanents to come in tapped, then Amulet's ability triggers and untaps them. Since they aren't coming in to play again, Orb of Dreams doesn't care that they are now untapped.

@ NeoSin: there are 2 things wrong with your idea, one, the amulet just untaps the things taped, meaning that when you drop your permanents they enter taped, then untap, no paratox. secondly, a paradox (or unlimited combo you cant stop) ends in a tie, not a win.

Surprised that no one has mentioned Howling Mine.

It comes into play tapped so your opponent won't be the first one to benefit from it.

Allows you to build stasis-chronotog as a mono-blue, without needing to splash white for kismet. Of course you might want white anyway for enlightened tutors...

This thing shuts down aggro decks almost single-handedly, something many decks can take advantage of. I know there are a few other alternatives, such as Kismet or Blind Obedience, but this is an ARTIFACT. It enables decks like mono-red burn or blue/black control to have a one card defense against haste and other aggro keywords. It also taps everything, unlike the other two cards.

As Mode mentioned, Amulet of Vigor can make this even better to use. I'd also suggest running a lot of non-basic lands that enter tapped, such as the gates or manlands, simply because they don't have a drawback anymore with their 'come into play tapped' ability rendered inert.
