Good card, but you'd really need to protect him. Dies too easy to your typical burn spell. Awesome art, though.

Man, I so want him to be good. He looks like a really cool dude.

the... history? Not, like, historian? "Hello, I'm History. Nice to meet you."
Name aside, he actually does very well in Kamigawa. Drawing cards whenever you play things is always good, and if you throw a Mirror Gallery in he can get you tons of card advantage.

Just wondering, is this any good in edh when it's not the general? Every time they destroy, exile, lower toughness of, or force you to sacrifice, or bounce your general, you play your general again and draw a card. I'm considering it for my Doran EDH deck.

I bet transcribing those tattoos was pretty unpleasant work after the first six months or so...

I would hope that if I ever met the living embodiment of the world's history in person, he would allow me to draw more than one card.

Gandhi here is good in the right deck. My Sisay EDH deck obviously has a home for him, he turns every nasty piece of work into a cantrip. This includes things like legendary equipment and enchantments.

Gahhhhhhh!
They should have worded it 'whenever you play a legendary card, draw a card'. That way you could cantrip off of lands, too.

Leyline of Singularity makes this as over powered as an enchantress with an Enchanted Evening in play. Well, mabey not that broken, as those ones says "come into play" not "cast" so you can draw off land and tokens.

I can't see why this shouldn't be EDH viable. If your deck runs a lot of legendary spells (why wouldn't it?), he's going to draw you a lot of cards.

@bijart_dauth: Both Leyline of Singularity and Enchanted Evening only change permanents to being legendary/enchantments. Reki here cares about when you cast a legendary spell: it does not become legendary until it hits the field, by which point it is no longer a spell and cannot trigger Reki, unless it was legendary to begin with.

Me: "Tell me O Wise Reki, what can you me about Kamigawa?" Reki: "It sucks."

Deadly in Captain Sisay Commander, where he becomes pure card advantage. Most Sisay decks I've seen go for him as early as possible.

Legendary, yeah that pretty much sums up the history of Kamigawa. Not.

Sure there are easier ways to win, but I want to win this way just once.
However, if you're REALLY considering that, just play Azusa, Lost but Seeking as your general. You'll be happier when you're playing 3 lands/turn.
